Is anyone else here remotely interested in the Derby? I'm a big racing fan but I must admit that I'm a bit out of touch this year and I don't even know who the favourite is today. :ninja It's hard to find races that are televised in Canada too. The broadcast starts at 3:00 Central today on NBC.

We got to watch a little of the pre-stuff while we were at the gym. Not a huge fan of the race itself, but it is interesting to watch all the build up that goes into it.

No, I'm too far removed from the thoroughbred scene. These horses are all 3 year olds and I left Kentucky 8 years ago. Do you follow horse racing?

Nice to see Diane Lane but other than that it is absurd the lead up to this race

only interesting part will be watching them slog thru the mud

The Derby is the most exciting 2 minutes in sports...though it wasn't actually run in 2 minutes until Northern Dancer did it in 1964. His time stood until 1973 when Secretariat broke the record and ran the Derby in 1:59 2/5.

:eek Calvin Borel wins it for the 3rd time in 4 years on Super Saver! My horse was second for most the race and then faded badly. Typical.
