we sit at our computer desks, we bitch about the presidencies, the wars, the economy but we never do a damn thing about it... We're civil cowards for the most part. Anything otherwise would label us psychotic and untested if we actually did something about our situation. I'm a lamb too, I admit it. Unless you take a stand for what you believe in and I don't mean just rallying then your just another peabrain with muted opinions. We all sit on here and bitch about our current government situation, but what is anyone doing about it?

I don't think any revolt, rebellion, or coup has ever involved a majority of the people. Typically, it's a small minority of action-minded individuals. Everybody is wired differently. Everybody has their special talent.

Our system is set up to completely rob us of power. Other than the vote we cast, there's not really anything we CAN do, unless "we" are a CEO of a billion-dollar corporation.

I can't help but feel there's been a shift in this country. The "silent majority" is waking up and they're pissed. Last week there was a poll about which party you most closely identify with, republican democrat or the "tea party". Democrat was #2, Republican was #3. That's a good start.

We're fucking sheeple. Not much you can do about it if you don't want to be labeled crazy or have less then a billion dollars. And if you have that much money, you're bound to be corrupted to the point where you don't want to do anything about it anymore.

In essence we need someone who doesn't hold an political ties in office and someone with an independant mind rational enough to see whats good for everyone. But that's a pipe dream.

The founding fathers of this country KNEW beond a shadow of a doubt, that if we went more than twenty years without a revolution, we would self destruct. How did they know that? They like ourselves are human, and know that absolute power corrupts absolutely.

I disagree. I do not think that having power automatically corrupts. I think the corrupted are often attracted to power.


Plus revolutions are bad in most cases.

Revolution is why this very country exists. Revolution is why Civil Rights happened.

I didn't say automatically, it's a pressure over time thing. The forbidden fruit wasn't touched immediately...

Eh, America would have gained Independence much like Canada did later on without Revolution due to global circumstances that the British Empire was facing around the world and its foreign assets.


I don't think the American Revolution was bad, but usually revolutions throw countries into chaos. The french revolution is a good example of this.


I wouldn't really call the civil rights struggle a "revolution". I consider real revolution to involve mass, armed conflict.
