I watched only a couple minutes of him hitting her because I'm at work, but I find the situation confusing. Disabled how? Why seven years later?

Maybe I'm just used to this kind of behavior and I'm not as shocked, idk. My parents were violent and always screamed, my mom hit me like this from time to time.

Bad parenting for sure. Unacceptable.

ive witnessed this first hand myself and for the longest i thought it was normal till ive had my own
my voice alone is enough to scare them straight if taking there stuff away isnt enough
im sure some cases this is not enough but violent beating that has proven to not work once will not work
ive witnessed parents doping their kids with cough medicine
im sure there are exceptions where the kids are just sociopaths but beating them will not help

That was the first time I watched it. I hate to wonder how much other abuse that girl had to put up with. Getting lashed with a belt is beyond the pale and he did it countless times. If he does not get forced to step down from his job then that will be bullshit. He is unfit to judge with that temperament.

I still hold my statement that no parent should ever need to resort to corporal punishment for any child of any age. A teenager does not become a terror out of the blue..

The few exceptions do not make all teens bad kids and the fact that poor parenting skills at the start are 80 to 90% of the issue is more likely to be the root cause of later problems in life. If a parent cannot help his kids resolve issues in the formative years they will find solutions to things and that's when the root cause starts..

So every time you tell your child I don't have time to help you with your problems or understand that a mood change means something is bugging your kids and they need help, you are actually building a great foundation to Teen / Adult issues later in life..

Late Thursday afternoon, Judge Adams issued a statement through his attorney asserting that his daughter released the tape to retaliate against him for withdrawing his financial support.

“If the public must know, just prior to the YouTube upload, a concerned father shared with his 23-year-old daughter that he was unwilling to continue to work hard and be her primary source of financial support, if she was going to simply ‘drop out’ [from college] and strive to achieve no more in life than to work part time at a video-game store,” said the statement released by Adams’ attorney, William A. Dudley.

Hmmmm.....in no way does this justify the verbal and physical abuse the girl went through - but she may well have been a little problem child - but the "judge" used piss poor judgement raising the girl.

There's always 3 sides to any "he said she said story" - his, hers, and the truth.

Interesting the mother who actively participated in the beating is now involved with the daughter in going after her father.

As bad as that video was, there is something significant missing here. Very sad story in many ways.
