There's no real evidence of his existence, but I think there was a well known rabbi named Jesus who had a cult formed around him and so on.
Ok.. now you have gone loopy..
I'm just pointing out that there is no proof of him, alexander, moon landings, or big foot.. We have only heard of these from other people, and we pick and choose what we believe..
I believe Jesus of the bible was real. I don't expect nor demand that anyone else does, I just hope.
Nice theory..
Except Alexander the great has numerous references from hundreds of different cultures to attest to his existence.2 of Jesus's followers wrote accounts of Christ's life. If their writings are not good enough for folks to believe than the writings regarding the life of Alexander the Great are not believable either and neither are a countless number of other historical writings.
More than a dozen secular authors/texts confirm many events and details that are written about in the New Testament. During a time in history where all historical and biographical writing was focused on the rich, on royalty, on military leaders, on famous people; it is miraculous that Jesus even got mentioned in secular writings; yet he did. Why you may ask? Because he did exist and he is that great.
Archaeology also confirms a huge number of details in the 4 gospels which were once also doubted before archaeological findings and confirmation came to be.
And there are countless other factual tidbits that could be mentioned, but I won't bother to go on.
People either believe or they don't. They either have it in their heart to seek Him or they don't. This post says enough for those that are truly seeking a relationship with the Lord to seek further with all their heart.
And for those that have no desire to seek, no amount of my writings would cause an ounce of fruitation to take place.
That's right. History is all a facet of our imaginations. And we'd do well to not learn from it. Woot. Party time!

It's extremely relevant! If Jesus Christ didn't exist there was no crucifixion, if there was no crucifixion there was no resurrection and without the crucifixion and resurrection, Christianity crumbles like a house of cards.Whether he existed or not is irrelevant.
Who were they?2 of Jesus's followers wrote accounts of Christ's life.
Alexander was a know historical figure. We have coins with his portrait on. We have statues, records of his exploits by contemporaneous historians, inscriptions on buildings of the time, cities named after him.If their writings are not good enough for folks to believe than the writings regarding the life of Alexander the Great are not believable either and neither are a countless number of other historical writings.
Please give the names of these dozen or so secular authors. The first anyone ever heard of Jesus was from the rantings of Paul...about 30 years after the alleged events.More than a dozen secular authors/texts confirm many events and details that are written about in the New Testament. Archaeology has also proved the Gospels wrong on many occasions. Nazareth is a good example.Archaeology also confirms a huge number of details in the 4 gospels which were once also doubted before archaeological findings and confirmation came to be.
Oh please do...with the evidence please. And there are countless other factual tidbits that could be mentioned, but I won't bother to go on.
Stacks of evidence to show the existence of Alexander. There's no proof.. Just like grace said, it's just like Alexander...
I don't need to do that Gracie. I've studied Christianity for 40 years. I'm fascinated by it and more so, why theists employ reason and logic to dismiss thousands of supernatural entities but when it comes to their gods they throw that same reason and logic out of the window and rely instead on 'faith'. There is no contemporaneous evidence for the existence of Jesus or Jesus Christ. If you think there is then produce it.Pladecalvo, as much as I'd love to take you out for a nice lunch and share with you what it has taken me over 30 years to learn, I just don't have the time to. But if you are truly interested, get off the Internet, go to a local community college library and you'll find many resources with all the answers to your questions.
Fondly,
Gracie
