Because they wouldn't let you blow your nose without throwing you in jail?

And now the only difference is if the government thinks that you might be an issue....They can throw you in Gitmo:confused

We opposed the Church Of England because of a wise man....From there who told the revolutionary party what it meant.

Oh and, that state sponsored church doesn't work.

I think that happened in the 1950s.

The Pledge of Allegiance

The last change in the Pledge of Allegiance occurred on June 14 (Flag Day), 1954 when President Dwight D. Eisenhower approved adding the words "under God". As he authorized this change he said:

"In this way we are reaffirming the transcendence of religious faith in America's heritage and future; in this way we shall constantly strengthen those spiritual weapons which forever will be our country's most powerful resource in peace and war."
This was the last change made to the Pledge of Allegiance. The 23 words what had been initially penned for a Columbus Day celebration now comprised a Thirty-one profession of loyalty and devotion to not only a flag, but to a way of life....the American ideal. Those words now read:

I pledge allegiance to the Flag
of the United States of America,
and to the Republic for which it stands:
one Nation under God, indivisible,
With Liberty and Justice for all.

Right...1954 My point exacarry.

And curious....And again, I am only curious. Because I am not an atheist, by any stroke of the imagination....Remember that.

I remember reading in The Bible something along these lines:

"Nobody gets to my father but through me"

Now, are you telling me that perhaps there should be another way?

Like.....Through Congress?

New World Order

HAHA I know it looks like I'm getting all up in arms, but I truly am not. I was talking about the other part though. ;)

FWIW, I don't think the church should EVER have a say in American government. That is different than demanding the refusal of acceptance of its influence on our history and culture though.

I do accept that it played a part in our inception, I agree that it played a part in laws that are made that protect us to this very day.

I also have a lot more in common with the founding fathers than you might think;)

However, studying and appreciating doctrine and Indoctrination are two totally different things.

This is my point .. it seems the ideals/beliefs/reasons our country was founded on are supposed to be thrown out the window these days.

I could care less if religion is "involved" in politics hands on.

That is correct, and that is totally a function of people deciding to do whatever the hell they want to do, practice "immorality". Not because the government failed to convert us all into abortion clinic snipers.

I know. I think you're one of the good guys mang. I think I'm saying the same thing you are, but I think, you think I'm saying something different than you.

I don't think anybody is talking about indoctrination. Nobody is going to go for that. Not out to about 1% of the fringe.

ANNUIT COEPTIS - "God has favored our undertaking." ;)

Anyway, I'm too tired to mount much of a discussion tonight, so I wish you all a fine evening.

ZZZZzzzzzz......
