Is this too offensive?

I never said the Old Testament was irrelevant. What I did say is this... we live under grace. Grace came with the crucifixion. Where there is a testament, there must be a testator. Jesus was/is the testator of the New Testament.

Look at it as your Last Will and Testament... if you will. :) People make up their wills, so that their will, will be done. Make sense?

The Old Testament is used as history... it has nothing to do with our salvation.

Obeying a man, in the Lord, is to be equally yoked, through the love of Christ.

Obeying a man if you're a woman? Dosen't sound very equal to me.

And if the old Testament is irrelevant, why do most Christian religions teach from it and it is included in most versions of the Bible, I've come across?

They like to pick and choose what can reinforce their current social code while ignoring the stuff that is too far out of bounds, like stoning and such.

So are you saying this is good or bad (being yoked?) as you've not made it clear to me.

It's good. It's not meant the way that Peter is taking it, at all.

But, you guys know what? I'm not in here to debate, especially Christianity. I was merely pointing out that we live under grace. You'll have to have further discussion with someone else. :)

If Christianity works for you, then it works. It just does not work for everyone and with lack of evidence it's a waste of time debating. Most of my critiques in this forum are aimed at those who argue the Bible and Christianity as "the god's honest truth". Now if you want to make me laugh, just say "believe or you'll burn in hell!" ;)

Oh ya I never told you guys, the presentation went pretty well. Made all the popular stupid boys hate me, but that's cool I didn't like any of them and their stupid cocky attitudes lol. I was the ONLY presenter (of the 3) who decided to look up during the presentation (like we were supposed to). And to add to my argument all the presenters were girls. I messed up one time, but everything else was perfect.

So I am doing the presentation on why males and females are equal for my english class. In the 'Religous' area I want to say something like this, is it offensive? "God doesn't hate us but, whoever typed up the bible had some sort of prejudice."

You probably don't want to say in your class what I'm going to write in a minute BUT

It depends on the religion. The early European and African religions were maternal, so the roles were kind of reversed... They were based on the sexual powers of a woman and gave superiority to women because they are capable to give birth. Apart from the classic amazon society that we all know and which did not accept any men as members, there existed amazon tribes that lived with men in harmony with the characteristic that the rulers were women....

Sorry for the late reply.... I could have been a great help.... But if you have to do any kind of report regarding the presentation you can say that....

The maternal gods of the mediterranean (like the Godesses of snakes of Crete) were substituted by the Olympian Greek pantheon that was mainly paternal because Zeus was the God of Gods. There were feminine figures though that had special position as Artemis for example and Aphrodite of course that was a remnant of the old maternal goddesses that had supreme powers due to their feminine identity and sexuality. Christianity followed that needed to stop the pagan rituals and orgies. In order to do that they suppressed any kind of female sexuality and the only female figure that is really special is Maria the mother of Christ that is characterized as virgin....
