Is there such a thing as life after death

Everyone has different perception of life after death, but I can not imagine that if there really life after death or not ..
In Islam, believe that there is the resurrection after death also the Christian but there are differences between the religions...

wat is ur opinion...?

I personally believe that what makes a person is their memories, feelings and experiences etc. All those things are stored in the brain which dies with the body. If there is such a thing as a soul it's the gas that runs the car. So I believe that if there is such a thing as life after death or a heaven that your soul goes to after death, then it's not really you, the person sitting here right now, it's your essence that ends up there. .Basically I think when you die, that's it..It's like going to bed.


Re-incarnation is a fascinating idea, I like the idea of energy recycling and being re-used by another being.

I agree re-incarnation is a fascinating idea so I've decided that when I come back... and I will... it will be as a seat on a girls bike. Preferably one that has a rider of at least 21 years old.

I believe that there is life after death, I don't think that a soul can die except by the power of Allah. If a physical body can no longer live, it doesn't mean that the soul dies too. Our souls go to another world after this...

I believe in life before AND after death, and I came to that conclusion all by myself.....not through "blind devotion" or "believing other peoples lies"

The responders in this thread who claim that when the brain dies, it takes all of your memories of who you are and you cease to exist, let me ask- What happens when they (scientists) are able to reproduce the entire memory record of a human brain and place it into a robot with a processor capable of working at the speed of a human brain and they do it. Not only that but they can duplicate the chemical processes of how an individual's brain works, AND then not only do they do it once, but they take your memories and put them into 10 robots. Is there now ten of you running around and do you in essence live forever as long as your memories are stored? Well, there may be 10 robots running around who think they are you, but so what. The concept of "soul" includes more than just memories, it includes consciousness, and other elements that we do not understand.

When you limit yourself to our knowledge of physical reality, do you really think you are dealing with all the pieces of the puzzle? I think not.

I dont know if "God" does as such....but it must come from somewhere?...therefore it must go "somewhere" too. (IMO)

Do you know where the idea of a soul came from? Is it mentioned in Gods great book? Does it say that animals have souls & that the good ones will go to heaven?

I've read thousands of ....I guess you would call them "alternative" or "spiritual" books over the last 30 odd years. I've only skimmed "Gods great book"

No...it doesnt say "all good kitties will go to heaven" animals dont know "sin" or "karma" or whatever...but they still have a soul energy.

I go with what my gut tells me makes sense. I've formulated my own idea of the "truth" in my 46 years here.....and I'm comfortable with that.
