Oh, how so?
I'm 4'10" and 85 lbs. If a 200 lbs. man breaks into my home and corners me in a room with intent to do harm how do you propose I am going to run away, scare him off, fight him off or have the time to formulate an elaborate McGuyver plan that stops him?
If I have a gun handy he will be shot until he is no longer twitching.
To me, killing another person is always wrong. You can always run away, fight off scare, do SOMETHING to stop a person. Killing is never right. Again, IMO.
I ask myself this, if someone attacks you to steal your wallet/purse, is the death penalty justified?
All excellent reasons for you to kill someone. I however, will not. I will find a way to avoid killing the person.

All the best with that when faced with a desperate robber, burglar or whacked out person with bad intentions that believe in dead people tell no tales.
I don't believe that will happen, but if it does, I will die knowing I lived my life with a clear conscience.
It sounds trite, I know, but I believe that as a Christian, I cannot preach, nor live, behaviors antithetical to my beliefs.
.... you'd rather die than defend yourself by any means necessary. You have more regard for anothers' life over yours, even though they don't feel the same regard towards you.
This makes absolutely no sense to me.

I can totally understand you would feel that way. It seems stupid, but if everyone lived thier lives the way Christ did, well, none of this would be a problem
I lived for two years in a very bad part of St. Louis. The neighborhood was rife with gangs, drugs, etc.
I was never assaulted nor stabbed. Every time my house was broken into, they made certain I wasnt home, and the time I was mugged was in an upscale community.
I don't expect others to believe nor live as I do. I just say what I believe. If doing it sits well in your conscience, then you are doing the right thing
I'm sorry, I respect your beliefs, however you are not God or Jesus.
You're a human being.
Bible commands us to "live as Christ lived"
Jesus gave Christians advise on how to live life like him with the sermon on the mount (The bettitudes)
I try to live my life that way. I don't tell others to live nor believe the way I do, I choose to live this way as a reflection of MY faith.
