I have an Android phone and I love it. Sometimes it gets glitchy, though, and my ring tones will just stop working and it will revert back to my default ringtones for some reason.

When you said flash did you mean the program or a flash on your camera??? I assumed camera but you didn't say "a flash" so I questioned it. I don't know about the program, but I do know that my android does NOT have a flash on my camera and I'm pretty sure I remember Jersey's iPhone having a flash.

I assume flash as in the flash player. Apple products no longer support it I believe as they use the new HTML5 which pretty much blows Flash out of the water. Facebook are rumoured to be launching an app which supports it next week at the iPhone 5 event.

I have used both extensively.

I prefer the iPhone, I think the interface is cleaner and crisper and it's a reliable bit of kit. Fetching from mail servers I also thought was reliable and well integrated.

The android is good, but it's just not quite there, but that's represented in the price.

Keep track of all issues.

Although I do like the phone for all that it offers, I'm now on my second one (Verizon replaced my first phone).

First it was calls where I could hear the person, but they couldn't hear me. Next issue was calls ending (on my end) a split second after the phone connected to the call. Just little stuff that I found aggravating for work. Seemed that I always had to do my "reboot" the phone which consisted of taking the battery out for a couple of seconds. So far with the second phone, no problems.

Thank you all, again, so much help!!

So Springsteen, you don't think not having Flash Player on the iPhone would really hinder anything? I'm a bit ignorant to this stuff, I just remember not being able to see SO many websites and videos because my BB didn't support flash.

If I'm going to pay all this damn money for Skype calls :p, I'd like to be able to do other things on it too.

I get the sense the iPhone is really for iTunes (which I don't use at all, I guess maybe I could! lol), is that incorrect?

If you do visit sites with a lot of flash, of course - you'd have to consider that. I wondered about that too - but don't really miss em, as I guess I browse mostly news sites or i'm searching for info whilst on the move.

HTML5 (which Apple do/will support) is supposed to negate the need for Flash - but it relies upon websites implementing it which could take a long time and perhaps never in some cases where websites don't change too much.

(/me has iPhone).

As for iTunes, it's there - but you don't have to use it of course. You would need iTunes on your computer - iPhone can't be activated etc without it.

I've considered Droid - but the ones my friends have don't seem to be as 'slick' as the iPhone is to use.

Still, I don't think you'd go wrong with either system - depending upon what's essential for your needs (e.g. Flash).

I was shopping for a smart phone last night and couldn't believe how freaking expensive plans are now.

Verizon with unlimited calls, unlimited text and a 12GB data plan runs $189.99/month WTF! I can lease a brand new car for that

Thank you
I suppose I will go playing around at the store today. Looking online, Verizon's phone choices for Android are all phones that people seem to have at least some issues with...low battery life, or freezing up...and they cost as much as the iPhone, so I guess I'm left wanting an Android OS but an iPhone...phone :p

I was grandfathered in to the unlimited data package for $29.99 per month, otherwise...NO WAY.
Plus, I don't need many minutes, nor texts, so I go with the bare minimum plan-wise, it's still way more than I want to pay.

Oh love, how you drain my bank account and common sense.

The other option I was considering was getting a basic phone, adding the $10 75MB plan to it, and downloading Skype from there (and ONLY using it for accepting skype calls and email), but it puts me at a risk of going over the data, which is like $2 per MB overage...

It's infuriating, honestly. My living situation is just a little shaky, and I can't quite be certain I will have consistent internet service, so I'm paying a bit more to have peace of mind regarding staying in contact with the bf.
