Um, you're off by a millenia or 2. The end of the world has been predicted waaay before Christianity was ever thought of. I don't know why some believe Christianity is an old religion. In the scheme of things, it's actually a modern religion.

Yeah, you make a good point. Most religions (including Christianity) weren't formed till after the Apostasy.
