Nice job of being fair and balanced ^ :cool

Thanks! ( I got it.) :D

For Ms Shayes, finally I'd look at official Party doctrine as compared to how the Party really functions Rep or Dem. Do they live up to their standards? Do they honestly promote their views? Do they have a standard for honestly or do they practise "the end justifies the means" philosophy. I'll stop there. Good luck!

Also, FactCheck.org is a great site. If you're looking for info on the parties themselves, I agree with everyone that you should go to their sites. However, what's interesting about factcheck.org, they are completely nonpartisan and sort of dissect issues, candidates, parties, etc. and cut through all of the propaganda and bs to give you the straight dirt...it can be humbling and insightful at the same time.

On November 4, 2008, The nation will be voting on a new President of the United States. This election has been very exciting from both sides of the parties. Both Parties are having major world alternating things happening inside them. Obama is the first black man that has a remarkably chance of winning and McCain now has Palin on his ballot and she would be the first woman Vice President. There are several different stances that each party stand for. Here is a look into each.

The Republican Party was founded in 1854 by anti-slavery expansion activists and quickly surpassed the Whig Party as the principle opposition to the Democratic Party. Back when Abraham Lincoln was President, the Republicans presided over the American Civil War and Reconstruction and was harried by internal factions and scandals toward the end of the 19th century. The Republican Party freed the slaves and done a lot of things that the Democrats didn’t want to accept at the time. Now a lot of that has changed. Republicans support the military forces, big b....

First Edit
On November 4, 2008, there will be an election to determine who should be the next President of the United States. This is a time of both great turmoil and excitement which is replayed every four years. This particular election has been more exciting than normal due to the assholes in leadership for both parties spewing even greater than normal volumes of bullshit. The populace however appears to be on a bull shit diet and seems to thrive on eating it on a regular basis.

The Democrats decided to take us in a new direction and chose Barrack Obama for President with Joe Biden as his Vice President. They are this decades version of Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney. Obama is the first black man that has somehow arisen from nowhere and incredibly has a remarkable chance of winning.

The Republicans being a group of old and senile white men in their wisdom opted forJohn McCain to be their candidate for President. In order to energize the parties base McCain after months of vetting chose a rather striking looking Alaskan Governer, Sarah Palin as Vice President.

So as one can observe both Parties are having major world alternating things happening inside them. The republicans by choosing a young vibrant attractive well rounded woman while the democrats went old school and opted for the old senile white guy. As they say politics can make strange be fellows.

There are several different stances that each party stand for. Here is a look into each. In looking at these positions each party takes it is important to remember that they will rarely adhere to said positions. In fact one can count on their using lies and distortions to avoid being held accountable.

The Republican Party freed the slaves and did a lot of things fucking pissed off the Democrats. While claiming to be progressive the democrats routinely show evidence that the head that was up their ass back then is still positioned the same today.

Now a lot of that has changed. Obama says so and thus it must be true. But I digress. Republicans support the military forces, big penises and even larger bank accounts. While democrats support controlling the amount of toilet paper one can use. With their head up their ass it is something which has been long held belief which is only surpassed by their crusade to take care of the masses from cradle to grave.

Your intro paragraph is good. After that, I would suggest writing a basic history and summary of the party platforms of the two major parties. Then add in stuff about third parties. That is easily at least 2+ pages depending on your writing style. If you need more, start ranting about current events. ;)

2000 words is about 4 pages single space I believe.

This is what I got so far.. Still working on it.. Let me know if you see anything wrong with it up to this point, so I can fix it.
On November 4, 2008, The nation will be voting on a new President of the United States. This election has been very exciting from both sides of the parties. The Democratic side has Barrack Obama running for President and Joe Biden as Vice President. The Republican side has John McCain running for President and Sarah Palin as Vice President. Republicans support the military forces, big businesses and the economy.

The Democrat Party is the oldest political party in continuous operation in the United States of America. The Democratic Party traces its origins to the Democratic-Republican Party, founded by Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and other influential opponents of the Federalists in 1792. Since the 1890s, the Democratic Party has favored in "liberal" positions. They favor farmers, laborers, labor unions, and religious and ethnic minorities. The Democrats look out for the ‘little people’.

Republicans and Democrats are two separate groups that are almost opposite on their beliefs. Right now, we have a Muslim man running for President of the United States for the Democrats. The Constitution was founded on Christianity. Do you believe that is wrong? Some people believe that a Muslim man can not be in charge of a Christian country. Religion has always played a major role for both parties but, in the course of a century, the parties' religious compositions have changed. Religion was a major dividing line between the parties before 1960, with Catholics, Jews, and Southern Protestants heavily Democratic, and Northeastern Protestants heavily Republican. Most of the old differences faded away after the realignment of the late 1960s that undercut the New Deal coalition. In my mind, We shouldn’t all be judged on our religion. We basically need to look for the person that is going to take care of our country no matter skin color or religion.

Healthcare is a big issue with the country right now. A lot of people that need health care cant get it due to lower income. Per the RNC website, here is what the republican President is wanting to do:
• The President's plan will help more Americans afford health insurance by reforming the tax code with a standard deduction for health insurance - like the standard deduction for dependants.
• The Affordable Choices Initiative will help make basic private health insurance available and will provide additional help to Americans who cannot afford insurance.
• These two policies will work together to help more Americans afford basic private coverage...
• The President's proposal will lower taxes for millions of Americans who now purchase health insurance on their own, making their insurance more affordable.

John McCain wants to reform Health Care making it easier for individuals and families to obtain insurance also to be able to purchase insurance across state lines. He wants to reform the tax code to give us the choice of who we pick and give us a refund check to offset the differences in insurance costs. This, to me, will cause a dramatic increase in our taxes. Many companies don’t offer insurance for their employees because it will cost too much, if they can help out the business, this may help us a little better. John McCain also wants to make insurance more portable, so that if we leave a job we can take insurance with us. Some companies offer that now, however the cost is outrageous and way too much for people to pay.

In Iowa, Barrack Obama spoke about health care. He stated: “We now face an opportunity — and an obligation — to turn the page on the failed politics of yesterday's health care debates… My plan begins by covering every American. If you already have health insurance, the only thing that will change for you under this plan is the amount of money you will spend on premiums. That will be less. If you are one of the 45 million Americans who don't have health insurance, you will have it after this plan becomes law. No one will be turned away because of a preexisting condition or illness.”

Obama is NOT Muslim

you could use that though by saying that blogs have inaccurately stated he is Muslim and then stay with the comment on religion and bring in JFK who was I believe the first catholic president. at that time there were concerns about a catholic being president.

you have a few writing errors where you have inserted done instead of did for example that you might want to clean up.

otherwise is not bad

I am a finicky writer when it comes to stuff like this so unfortunately i tend to tear things apart. no offense intended
