I can't speak for Ed, although I'm confident he wouldn't have made such a sweeping statement either, but whatever; I won't pressure you into something you're clearly uncomfortable dwelling on. Yes, there were people in the Church that were fighting Hitler's cause, that is because some people's faith is weak, now I can't judge people who were weak in faith as my beliefs tells me not to do so, but in all honesty, do you believe that Hitler didn't like religion of any sorts, because Christianity is based on Judaism

My point about quote mining was not that I think Hitler was lying, but that the quotes may be taken out of context to feed bias. I wouldn't trust an evangelical Christian's presentation of the time of day I would need to read the entire speech to make a judgment, context is hugely important.

I believe Hitler took out dissenters of all kinds, yes.
There is a difference between belief in the Christian god and Christianity as a human religion...he seemed to enjoy criticizing all sorts of humans, he could have well been disappointed in how Christianity progressed, but still believed in the Christian god. Possible, is all.

I only confronted your statement because atheists were rounded up and murdered during the holocaust along with Jews, homosexuals, people with disabilities, as well as "gypsies" and other groups, not because I wished to say the Nazis were Christian. I wouldn't call the Nazis a Christian movement by any stretch, because I think the mission was clearly beyond that.

That still doesn't make them an atheist government. Fess up
