the treatment of animals being advocated on this thread was very different to that of the treatment of animals that are slaughtered for their meat

it is animal husbandry i am concerned with, i am a meat eater but only eat free range and or organic meat, i have also been shooting and cooked the rabbit i had shot...humanely

as for the comment about vegetables not being able to object to being killed and eaten, well now you're just being silly and pedantic to an extreme

and people do actually protest and care about coral reefs dying and then whitening due to human pollution of the oceans which then in turn means that the animals inhabiting the reef suffer and so on

there are people who care so much that they avoid eating anything that was once alive [fruitarians] and there are people who avoid all animal products in there diets [vegans or vegetarians] and there are people who do eat meat and yes eat plants, but they care, they are not cruel

and then... there are people who just dont give a shit and even show support for animal cruelty on internet forums

To be honest dude, I think you lost the whole point of this anyway. No one was saying it's wrong and cruel to kill animals for food, the point was that it's wrong to unnessecarily torture and keep animals in cruel conditions before killing them, there really is no need whatsoever to do that and buying meat from arseholes like that is supporting these cruel and unnessacary practices. But then of course, James dosen't give a shit about that, is it any wonder someone found his views offensive? At least they answered without calling names but by using an example unlike James who could only use stupid stereotypes about people to try and make him feel better about himself for some sad reason!

If being cruel to animals was illegal, we'd stop making cheeseburgers and chicken. I don't know if you live in the same country as some of us or not, but either way, like James said, animals are here for us to eat.

Also, like James said, it's all about the food chain, and I don't wanna live off of a vegetable garden. I like food that actually tastes good.

If you think it's cruel to kill animals for our food, what about plants? They're living creatures. They can't scream, or complain, but they're alive. So are coral reefs, but you don't see us saying, "Don't abuse coral reefs! It's cruel!". Did you know that grass is living too? I think it's cruel to mow your lawn, grass is defenseless, it didn't hurt us, why should we decapitate it?
