If anybody thinks the garbage passed known as Obamacare is going to control costs or make health care accessible to all they are dreaming.

This was such an crisis it had to be passed at all costs yet 20 million give or take are left out in the cold.

If a decent family plan costs 10k or more and you get even half of it subsidized what fucking good is that since you don't have 5k to buy a catastrophic plan to begin with??

Thus far I heard one major manufacturer state it will cost them 500 million for the first quarter this year. That has not been met with anything but silence from the left. So I take it that it must be true. Anybody honestly think that company will just rollover and absorb it in this economy? Say good riddance to a lot of jobs.

They should have given everybody medicare and just taxed us all 15%. Including those on minimum wage. I bet more would have bought into that.

I think I am on a different page than you & Accountable. The only thing I was commenting on with regards to that particular post of yours was the " flat tax of 15% ". The rest to me meant absolutely nothing. Right, left, Democrat, Republican bla bla bla. Maybe I missed something in Accountables posts even though I've re-read it a pile of times. I dunno.

I should know the answer but that is why I have a secretary but I believe that social security and medicare costs us about 15% already when you take what the employee pays and what the employer pays.

I wonder how many realize the employer pays in an equal amount.

Because I don't live in the US I don't pay enough attention to issues such as your health care coverage. I have nothing to offer except for my experience with our system which of course most Americans don't want to hear about. They have heard all the bad stories and it just doesn't work.

With or without the medical insurance issue your taxes will go up regardless. So will ours. Someone has to pay for all the shit the govt has been handing out. The insurance issue will just end up being the fall guy so to speak.

Don't get me started on the VAT issue.

My issue with this from the very first has been with the federal gov't taking this on, more than the cost or logistics. It's simply not their job nor responsibility. If a state wants to cover their citizens, more power to them. If my state wants to cover us citizens, well I'd have to look at that long and hard before casting my vote. It wouldn't affect me.
