However if the majority of Americans support it then do it right. Take your time, figure out how to pay for it without breaking the nation. Remove all the sweetheart deals that were made to make it happen. This is not a game of beat the clock no matter what Obama wants.

It won't turn out that way, Americans are stubborn. The nation is already broken we just haven't shattered her yet. Personally, I'm also getting pretty tired of the foreign members telling us how we should think.

I will turnover to the government my health as soon as someone shows me anything that the U.S. Government does well. Hell we are specialists at war and we can't even do that right.

How many times does it have to be stated that no one is proposing socialized medicine?

As far as doing it without breaking the nation... the CBO said that this bill will reduce the deficit by $1,300,000,000,000.00 over the next 20 years. Yes, they are most likely wrong on the numbers, but it was the best non partisan guess that could be made today.
The reconciliation bill removes those sweetheart deals.

And make no doubt about it, it IS a game of beat the clock. The insurance industry has billions of dollars they are willing to use to beat any sort of reform. The longer the debate goes on, the greater the chance they will be able to spread enough fear and lies to win.

I am no fan of insurance companies but I am less of a fan of fickle government. I call bullshit on the sweetheart deals disappearing. There was a lot of massaging going on to get us to this faulty bill. I don't trust the democrats. Reduce deficit I really call bullshit on that one.

I believe in socialised drugs. Much more fun passing round a doobie than stuck in a room on your own on an acid trip, trying to staple your penis to the floor!:thumbup:D

Don't believe me, don't believe the press and don't believe the pundits. Believe your own eyes.

There is even a link to a summary of the amendments submitted. Read it and know for certain.

How about this great plan is good enough for all of us but Obama & staff & congress have excluded themselves from it?

Tim I gotta give you an A for effort to stay with the party line.

That bit about it reducing the deficit is about the funniest fucking thing I have heard in years :D

This bill needs to be scrapped and give everybody medicare

Everybody gets taxed including minimum wage. With no caps and no exceptions.

Problem solved

This shit the democrats gave us is sheer garbage.

Who's told you how to think? For myself, I've told you how it works (and works better) here.....I dont ever remember telling you what to think.....

Unfortunately, "better" is a subjective term... what appears to be better from your perspective is worse to mine.

I can afford to go to a doctor, fill my prescriptions, etc. But I have health insurance. Even if I didn't have health insurances, most medical providers will work out a payment plan with you for major expenses. My physical therapy last year wasn't covered 100%, so I had to pay about $500 out of pocket. I'd still take that over a government run system any day of the week.

They have a practice because they want to make money and they don't give a shit who they drag down to get it. It also makes sense that they would work out a payment plan because if they didn't their offices would be empty for most of the day.

I just thought of something I would like to share with you........ :D
I just came from the doctors office to review my regular 3 month blood tests that I had done 1 week ago. Neither cost me one fucking cent out of my pocket. This evening I will go and fill my prescriptions, which I do every three months, and out of pocket it will cost me no more than a couple of bucks. No payment plans = I can spend my money on whatever the hell I want because I don't have to give it to a doctor.

In a couple of weeks I will go see my cardiologist and get run through a pile of tests again. Those won't cost me a red cent either.

Kinda sucks medically speaking to be you I think.

What does the title of this thread even mean? :p

I'm interested to see what effect this new legislation will have on the elections in November. From what I've seen, a lot of Americans are unhappy. I wonder if Obama is going to lose control of the House as a result of this.

I am fucking tired of all the bullshit being spewed from both sides of this arguement.
In the meantime, myself and my family cannot afford and do not currently have any health insurance coverage. We simply cant afford it.
So keep on spewing partisan bullshit at each other while my family and millions of others play russian roulette with our health vs financial survival. The current plan looks to be a government subsidy for the health insurance industry and I doubt very much if it will do a damn thing to help get us covered in any meaningful or affordable way.

What the fuck is so horrible with something like a medicare buy in option?

I've never in my 42 years ever encountered one single person who ever had any of these experiences.

I know PLENTY of people who choose not to go to a doctor because they SAY they "can't afford it." But usually they aren't that sick to begin with. On the other hand, I also know plenty of people who have fantastic insurance coverage and go to the doctor every time they get a sniffle and rack up thousands in insurance payments that are likely unnecessary and cost the system far too much.
