Yes! It's brilliant! I read the books last summer and the film really stayed true to it, they did a brilliant job

I've read the books and I want to see the films, but I'll probably end up waiting for the DVD :) I keep hearing good things about it though, that it's pretty true to the story.

Sad thing is, I had never heard of it up until a month or two ago (yes, I know pretty damn big rock I live under). Premise looks interesting, I may pickup the books at some point.

I read the first book but haven't seen the movie yet. I'll probably get around to seeing it when it comes out on DVD.

i saw it friday. i was very disappointed. out of 5 stars, i gave it 2 1/2 to a 3, while i gave the book all 5. they changed things, left a lot out, added stuff in that didnt even happen in the book. fails in comparison to the book. it was OK, but i could have been happy without seeing the movie at all

Seriously?? They hardly changed anything and I thought they fit in a lot. They had to cut some bits out, they always will have to when they make a book into a film but I thought they did fantastically well tbh.

I'm with you. The thing I missed in the movie was the emotional aspects. It just seemed so... shallow compared to the book. They didn't go into any depth in any of the relationships Katniss had with any of the other characters. I understand they were pressed for time, but I think they could have done a much better job with that. And I couldn't stand how they added in the parts with the gamekeeper and the president. I could care less how the gamekeeper controlled the games. I would have much rather it been more focused on Katniss like in the books.

i know they cant fit everything from the book into a movie, but it did seem all rushed, for it to be almost 3 hours long. the whole extra crap they threw in about the arena control room? i think that took away from the story. they should have left that out and put more time and attention to other details that they left out that play a part in the following books. and the extra parts with President Snow and Seneca werent needed either
