I was just responding to GIA's God is an alien statement... I was not being critical or looking down on your answers, just discussing them. :)

Sorry, didn't realize that you were responding to him! I didn't think you were being critical at all, just wanted to clarify what was written :)

I can buy that although, imo it would be better to say, odds are the Bible God as describe is in error and the nature of a deity who controls our destiny is unknown. If and when the existence of God can be determined and is connected to our spirits, God is no longer alien to us, but directly related. :)

But if we are involved with the CC as an evolutionary step, it serves no meaningful purpose, nor enhances the discussion by describing it as "alien" unless you have thought of a good one. :)

I hate it when one with eloquence corrects my poor English but that is the way to learn. Merci man ami for the pain.

I suppose I understand what you mean by the alien thing. I never really thought of him as not being part of this world though.

I don't believe in the supernatural persay...but I do believe in spirits and souls. I suppose, in a sense, you could consider that as such.

I don't believe in a specific God. I have tried in past to find one out there that fully embraces my thoughts on it, but have yet to find one specific God.

And no worries, I am not defensive...I just found some of your questions to my responses to be a bit critical considering they were very personal the the person answering them.

I would like to ask since you said you aren't an atheist, do you follow a specific God or are you too simply seeking answers like myself?

I, call myself a Gnostic Christian for want of a better label. You seem to be a good candidate for that thinking pattern.

Even as I found the Godhead, the seeking never stops. I filed what was given, raised the bar of my standards and seek further. I define God as the best set of rules to live by and these rules come from diverse sources or Gods if that is what you wish to call the sources.

The Godhead I know in a nutshell.
I was a skeptic till the age of 39.
I then had an apotheosis and later branded myself a Gnostic Christiannaturalist.
Gnostic Christian because I exemplify this quote from William Blake.

“Both read the Bible day andnight, But thou read'st black where I read white.”

This refers to how Gnostics tend to reverse, for moral reasons, whatChristians see in the Bible. We tend to recognize the evil ways of O T Godwhere literal Christians will see God’s killing as good.Christians are sheeple where Gnostic Christians are goats.
This perhaps why we see the use of a Jesus scapegoat as immoral, whiletheists like to make Jesus their beast of burden. An immoral position.

During my apotheosis, something that only lasted 5 or 6 seconds, theonly things of note to happen was that my paradigm of reality was confirmed andI was chastised to think more demographically. What I found was what I call acosmic consciousness. Not a new term but one that is a close but not exact fit.

I recognize that I have no proof. That is always the way withapotheosis.
This is also why I prefer to stick to issues of morality because no onehas yet been able to prove that God is real and I have no more proof than theyfor the cosmic consciousness.

The cosmic consciousness is not a miracle working God. He does notinterfere with us save when one of us finds it. Not a common thing from what Ican see. It is a part of nature and our next evolutionary step.

I tend to have more in common with atheists who ignore what they see asmy delusion because our morals are basically identical. Theist tend not to likeme much as I have no respect for literalists and fundamentals and think thatmost Christians have tribal mentalities and poor morals.

I am rather between a rock and a hard place but this I cannot help.

I am happy to be questioned on what I believe but whether or not Godexists is basically irrelevant to this world for all that he does not do, and Iprefer to thrash out moral issues that can actually find an end point. The searchfor God is never ending when you are of the Gnostic persuasion. My apotheosisbasically says that I am to discard whatever God I found, God as a set of rulesthat is, not idol worship it but instead, raise my bar and seek further.

My apotheosis also showed me that God has no need for love, adoration orobedience. He has no needs. Man has dominion here on earth and is to be and isthe supreme being.

I think you see only what you want to see.
Like your bizarre rationalization of legalizing drug abuse as a means to protect children.

paradigm of reality
?
WTF does that mean when you chatter on about your mythical religion in which there is zero ability to confirm in the scientific sense.
If you are going to discuss reality, it can be scientifically studied as an element and not the abstraction you keep proposing.
Otherwise, your claims are merely another belief system based upon faith.

think more demographically
I see the words,
How can you study a concept that doesn't exist in our plain of existence?

During my apotheosis, something that only lasted 5 or 6 seconds
More likely a small stroke ......or from something you ingested ( :D )

What I found was what I call acosmic consciousness
And it looks like you are asking us to take your word on that :p

I remember you posted this a long time back. Thanks for the refresher of your views.

My Agnostic beliefs follow this general outline:

*God- solid maybe.
*If God, it expects adolation and worship- God I hope not. I'd expect more from a supreme being. This appears to be a ancient human premise.
*Spirits and continued consciousness after physical death- hopefully.
*God/Spirits involved in every detail of our life- undetermined, but if help is offered, most likely it is of a spiritual nature communicated in an indirect manner. I doubt winning the mega lottery is a gift from God (unless you planned it in your pre-life strategy sesson, see No.2 below). I know I'd include a lottery cash prize in my life planning. ;)

Discussion points:
1. Specific nature of, rules, and punishments handed out by God- unknown but unlikely. I've always thought religious control and manipulation are not of God, but of our religious brethren here on Earth.
2. Spiritual intervention in physical events- unknown. I've always thought if you are at the wrong place at the wrong time, your dead. Some psychics seem to think spirits plan their lives out in advance, creating obstacles to learn from, and including their deaths to end the visit to Simulator Earth. According to them everything that happens is following a script. -undetermined.
3. Spiritual cheer leaders- It's possible as I feel something going on in the background. -undetermined. :)
4. Is there a religion who has it 100% right?- unknown. Based on my Christian upbringing and Bible studies, I feel pretty confident, Christians don't have it right. Although I know less of the Muslim religion, I don't belive they have it right either. Both seem to be elaborate fantasy's produced and controlled by men.

No argument from me here.
To believe that any of the proposed Gods are real, one must embrace fantasy, miracles and magic as real.

Life may be stranger than we know but to believe in such is not in my psyche.
Evidence would change that but there is none.

Self deprecation is a new angle I haven't seen you use before, but then I haven't read the many thousands of posts you've made around the Internet.

How can you be 'god-like' and yet claim to embrace fantasy with out that spilling over into your claims of reality?
(it's obvious to me, pure BS.....just interested in how you rationalize it)

The Godhead is a part of nature. Not a part of the supernatural.
Again, this is anecdotal and I do not argue the point. It is take it or leave it statement that you have left.
Case closed.

This is your faith/belief. In your mind the case is closed, but not in a philosophical discussion. :)

The Godhead is a part of nature.
If it's a part of reality, it can be studied.
Please present it or it's physical location so that it can be studied by means of the scientific method.

Again, this is anecdotal
And I'm calling BS.
An anecdote is a claim told of a real event.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anecdote

You're talking nonsense.

I do not argue the point
So, what's the purpose of all the 'I hate the Christian God ' threads you've posted while claiming your religious views are one of a 'god-like' entity?
You've recently stated your views are based upon at least fantasy.
How do you rationalize the co-existence of the fantasy you partake in and the reality you claim this 'godhead' exists in?
Sounds complicated and contradictory.
About all you've proven to me is you hate the Christian faith based upon cherry picking elements out of a strict literal interpretation of the Christian Bible.
Do you have a preference for hating one version more than another?
Or just hate'em all?

It is take it or leave it statement that you have left.
Interesting way of putting it.... :D

I have no problem in discussing philosophical or theological issues.
The only thing I closed was doing something I cannot do and that is to prove what was a personal experience.

There is nothing of philosophy in that issue.

Hate is not a word I use express what I do.

It is my view that all literalists and fundamentals hurt all of us whoare Religionists.
They all hurt their parent religions and everyone else who has a belief. They make us all into laughing stocks and should rethink their position. Thereis a Godhead but not the God of talking animals, genocidal floods andretribution. Belief in fantasy is evil.

However, you do use a theme of hate in the pitch for your own personal beliefs and seldom define distinctly your target other than the evilness of a 'Christian God'. It's evident even in this post of yours.

For evil to grow my friends, all good people need do is nothing.
If you're quoting Burke, he actually wrote:
" "When bad men combine, the good must associate; else they will fall one by one, an unpitied sacrifice in a contemptible struggle." "

You're probably thinking of the movie, War and Peace.

So, how does that ( " For evil to grow my friends, all good people need do is nothing." ) relate to your position of legalizing drug abuse by doing nothing to restrain the damage done to the health and psyche of mankind?
Seems you like to pick and choose at your pleasure.

Like you pick and choose inappropriate wording to try to slant my position.

All anyone has to do is read your threads on drugs, GIA....to understand why I post as I have.
I did tell you you'd be better off closing one of them early in our debates and recanting your position.
Didn't listen, did ya, :D
You just kept on adding more and more nonsense to your thread,
Now your stuck trying to deny what you originally presented about trading off more damaging addictions for less damaging addictions through legalization of current illegal drugs.
And even more bizarre, devising a prescription model to facilitate drug recreation so that unknown drug conflicts would become unlikely, all the while protecting children. But wait, that wasn't all......you argued against the 'War on Drugs' while claiming that legalization would give the police the moral right to protect children where none exists now but decriminalization promotes drug abuse with children......
that's not just bizarre, GIA....that's FUBAR! ( fucked up beyond all reason )

So when you post:
For evil to grow my friends, all good people need do is nothing.
Fight them when you can. It is your duty to your fellow man.

it's only posing.
