The sun is shining again! 
cycled in to work, my legs are still getting used to it but I figure since I've only been doing it again for three days, it's going to get easier with time.
Eventual goal, to cycle up the fucking huge, bumpy-arse hill that's just after the really lovely scenic part of the route. It's a shame cos it's gorgeous through one of the estates, but the redway is chopped to bits. Makes getting up any speed impossible.

Do you have a lot of hills out there? When I was working in Vancouver one summer I biked to work every day too. The place where I worked was at the bottom of a big-ass hill and I lived at the top. Going to work was pure awesomeness. Coming back, not so much. But man, was I in shape!
Technically, no really horrible hills. But in my town we have redways, cycle paths that go under the roads instead of across them, so there's a lot of up and down and up and down.... down is great, up isn't so wonderful
If I cycled on the main roads then I'd get there quicker just from not constantly going under roads and through housing estates, but then I'd also be cycling in traffic and I don't have a helmet :ninja
