Then in an instant he awoke from his protracted daydream as ms. Taylor, his secretary entered his office.
With effort, he dealt with the papers she foisted upon him and the questions she fired at him, until at last she left, her perfume clinging to the air.
He hadn't cheated on his wife in the 5 years they have been married but Ms. Taylor presented a haunting temptation.
He often found himself lost in her clear depthless blue eyes and intoxicating voice.
Once while working late, they accidentally rubbed into one another and their lips almost met.
The remembrance of that moment caused his heart to race as a thrill coursed through his body.
He made a mental note to try very hard not to act on impulse though he knew she had sent signals that he would not be stopped should he try to take advantage of their mutual temptation.
At that same moment, Ms. Taylor was in the file room attempting to keep her mind on her work difficult as that was these days.
After he left the office that night, he stopped by the florist and bought a nice bouquet of mixed spring flowers for his wife.
This was an effort to assuage his guilty conscience and hopefully remind him of his vows.
Vows don't cure this he thought as once again his mind drifted to Ms. Taylor and he "adjusted" himself prior to getting out of the car upon arrival home.
Hearing his car in the driveway, his wife straightened her hair once again and check that her dress was back in order.
Because she wanted to make sure she looked presentable when her husband walked through the door.....
Because she felt he enjoyed her fresh appearance when he came home from a hard day's work.
Because afterall, he went out and worked while she stayed home taking care of things.
Though she did work hard at home to make him a lovely place to relieve the stress of his day.
Even tho, she wondered if this is all there is.....
She let go that rumination as he walked through the door, surprised to see a beautiful boquet of flowers.
Which made her mentally count down what today was.
