I can sometimes relate how things are now to why kids are the way they are now. There is just so much that has been lost to us over the years. Besides, churches are too corrupt to really change anything nowadays. To be honest, one would need to start from scratch. To make matters worse though...you have other "make believe" religions like Scientology that recruits people who have basically nowhere to go or are not smart enough to see a scam staring them in the eyes. However, that topic is for another thread I am quite sure.

Though I do find them hilarious in their ideals and concepts...I do find it horrific and deplorable on how they still remain a legit "religion" after the deaths they have caused in the past couple of years. Truly, this is proof on how much our government pays attention to what is going on in the world these days. Though it shall all come to an end one day. As we see in our day and age, the truth has a funny way of finally coming to the surface no matter the lies we are told to believe in. The same shall happen to all the "make believe" religions that have only existed for no less than a decade. If that to be quite honest. In the end...the truth always rears it's "ugly" head.

The government is paying attention, trust me they know everything that is going on, that's not to say that they really CARE though. And besides that the US government doesn't really decide what's a religion and what isn't.

I view all religions as cults, they may not all be money making scams like scientology but they are all full of brainwashed followers IMO

I respect all religions that do not promote violence or any type of harm to an individual. I just do not respect religions that are created by someone who wrote science fiction novels or a believer who states he was cured of a learning disability after donating thousands upon thousands of dollars and still continues to do so till this very day. No...no...no, my friend. You were not cured of a learning disability whatsoever. You were merely alleviated from your own wallet, personal secrets, and possessions. Of course, when they are done with the person then they shall just call him a heretic and throw him out of the "religion" altogether.

I don't think the government should have to babysit the nation through our individual religious selection. If you're stupid enough to get caught up in a scam or a cult, shame on you. People should be free to make their own mistakes, so that even if they don't manage to learn from them, other people can.

I don't have anything against people who choose to follow a religion, and I find it pointless to try to have a logical debate on religion with them, I just avoid the topic altogether around them.

Yup, I hate debates with religious folks, I like to mock the obnoxious ones and tease the believers I find are okay folks.

I feel like reading the Gospel of John and the revelation, apocalypse and whatnot...they seem awesome.

Very true in some aspects, but it is the government who swore to protect the people of this nation so if the shoes fit then someone in the governmental office should start wearing them. Besides, the deaths that occurred in a Scientology Church were not all made willingly. Some occurred when being imprisoned in a room without food or water whatsoever. Though I have to agree that some responsibility should fall upon ourselves at times, but we must not always expect people to not make mistakes especially in this day and age. I still believe it is our duty as decent human beings to try and protect those around us even if they are not blood related or known to us as most might be deemed as a friend. Do not blame the hearts of those who are willing to believe that there is still good in the hearts of those that surround us. At times it is not stupidity that befalls them, but mere decency on their behalf to trust in the goodness of mankind. As always, those are merely my thoughts and nothing more.
