Handcuffs that give electric shocks after too much movement

I can already see issues with this

Both accidental and by way of deliberate abuse by the law enforcement officers

Seems this "advance in technology" is not necessary

From the first link:
That's not even where it ends though, because there's additional language describing how the cuffs could actually administer a substance "to achieve any desired result" via needles or gas.

No way in HELL! Handcuffs that deliver an electric shock should only be allowed in the bedroom. They should be finding ways to make restrains less painful, not more. After all, the police have to presume innocence until proven guilty, and that doesn't happen until long after the arrest.

I am against em...this goes inline with my argument of taser abuse...dont like em as they are being used for control rather than original intent.
But it gets worse...it has went to "look for a reason to taze" around here anyway.

These cuffs would be the dream tool no doubt for those with abuse in mind.
As much as I tend to side with the law...I can see no practical use for these cuffs....no matter what they say
If the guy is cuffed...his threat level is already greatly reduced.

From one of the links

The next generation handcuffs will be super high tech with built-in sensors such as accelerometers, potentiometer, inclinometer, biometric sensors, camera sensors and more. But the kicker to this invention is that these future handcuffs will be able to combine standard restraining mechanisms alongside those that could deliver a powerful electric shock to detainees and/or administer medications to sedate or irritate them

I can see a disaster happeneing.
fall down...get shocked for the sudden movement.
Get shocked as you are at the wrong incline.
Shocking causes jerking...which causes more shocking.

How is that any different than tasing a subject that's already handcuffed??? I don't see a reason for electrical shocks to be delivered to an already handcuffed subject. Sounds like an invention MADE for civil suits, IJS

I'm against any increase in power of the state and especially state empowered corporations over it's citizens.

Increases have had to occur or there would be zero control ....you describe the desire for a lawless society.
