You have to right click the empty space Select View, then select Details
Right click what empty space?

Skip that question. Tuffy you are still missing what I'm trying to do and I'm going in circles. If you look at your screen shots and look at mine they both have stuff above the line that I drew in my previous snap. As I said before I don't want to see anything other than my drives. No Favorites... no Library... no Homegroup...

Those items you are talking about are in your navigation pane. To turn off your navigation pane
1. Open Windows explorer.
2. Click on Organize > Layout.

3. To Turn Off the Navigation Pane

A) Click on Navigation Pane to unhighlight the icon.
4. To Turn On the Navigation Pane -
A) Click on Navigation Pane to highlight the icon.

I hope this would help you!

Thanks Tim, I'm going to try that later. I have to go for a Thanksgiving feast. :D

For shits and giggles I used my photo editor and erased the crap I don't want to see when I click on my " Explorer " shortcut. Notice.... nothing above " Local Disk C " except a nice white space. That's what I want to end up with. Make sense?

Oh, now I get it, I don't think you can :( Unless you want to go deep into the registry, which for me is dangerous stuff

The library is part and parcel of Windows 7, I like it anyway

Tim I know it would drive me nuts if I left the house without trying that. Guess what? It worked. I now have what I want and for that I'm putting your picture on my piano. Thank you very much.

psstttt..... I'm starting to like Win7 :24:

The only thing it gets rid of the layout for the hard drives
