Right click the shortcut and see if you get
%windir%\explorer.exe
in the Shortcut tab

If not just grab screen capture to let me see what you get, I rather be seeing what I am doing rather than guess

I had the same problem any folders I tried to pin opened the libraries
Would making a shortcut to your actual user name folder help?{to the desktop}
the libraries dont show then.

How "deep are you wanting to go"

As deep as I've explained it with the pictures.

If it wasn't that this computer is screaming fast right now I'd blow the fucking OS out and put XP back in. It's that or get my fucking hands on all those motherfuckers that say Windows 7 was their idea. They remind me of Stephen King. All the blood and gore. Just keep it simple... one fucking Godzilla and we have a movie if you know what I mean. A good example of bloat is Windows Live Mail..... how much shit does one need for e-mail. Apparently a lot because they sure have a lot of shit in there.

It is a little different and takes a while to get used to..i had vista before 7 so got to get used to the new gui......i switched back and forth from xp and vista a few times

Once I stared accepting it and using the new features i like it.....with the new mail you can use gmail or hot mail...pretty cool as well as some drag and drop features

I put the quick launch back as well.

As far as the explorer issue I dont think you can fix it..but you can create a shortcut to the root of C if that helps

Windows 7 has a nifty search feature in the start menu that will find ANYTHING by keyword. Try that, then open the file location, then send to desktop.

Be nicer to Tuffdisc, I understood everything he was saying, it's not his fault you cant explain yourself any better

I've tried that.

I understood everything he was saying as well but it seems even though I explained myself very well he ... as well as others couldn't grasp it. That's why I posted the pictures. Most people can understand 'em but even at that one didn't. :D

As far as being nicer to Tuffy... well I suppose I could but why say " I don't understand why you would want to do that". It really doesn't matter why. Either one has a solution or one doesn't. It's quite simple really.

So, did my link help?

Geez... I`m pretty quick but not that quick. I was working on it though.

In the end it might but so far no. I think the reason is my target location is different that the one in your link.

Mine is ... %windir% and the one in your link is %SystemRoot%. If I place that command in the line I get exactly the same as I did before.

I have changed mine without needing to change the %windir% bit into %SystemRoot% :thumbup

I ended up changing it to this... %windir%\explorer.exe C:\ so what it ends up doing is starting from that point when I click that shortcut. It doesn't eliminate the items that are above the line in the snap I posted before.

How I have done it gets rid of that above the line
