Guy fired for wearing Packers tie

With the negative press it was stupid for the GM to ask the guy to take it off. Especially when it was fine for him to wear in on saturday to show support for his team and to remember his grandmother that passed on friday cause she was also a huge GB packers fan.

but he wouldnt ask him to take it off if the bears won thats for damn sure
 
Here's the thing... the boss said it jokingly at first, and then another time when he was with a customer, and then ended with, "Take your tie off or your f'ing fired". That last one would constitute a hostile work environment, and also gives him grounds for a wrongful termination lawsuit.

Retro is right. You can't fail to enforce a so-called rule on Saturday and come back and true to enforce it on Monday. Once an SOP is broken and ignored it is no longer enforceable.

I haven't read the story, but I get the gist of it...all it'd take in a civil lawsuit would be a few Packers fans and this guy would be set for life, LOL

:homo:The link wasn't coming up. But yeah, in regards to Dana's comment, it is tacky in a professional work environment. However, he should not have been fired because of it. He could probably get a case from it. Seeing as you can sue anyone for ANYthing these days...
