Not at all. I'm just expressing my belief that the fundamentalist view of hell shows a contempt for humanity. Apparently I'm not doing a very good job considering I'm coming across as simply trying to provoke Sadie. My comments are not meant to be anti-Christian. There are many Christians who have civilized their view of hell for the very reasons I am pointing out in this thread.

Christ has had a very 'civilised' views of hell, he forgave people

I'm not convinced that you think it's wrong. Perhaps I can explain why if you can answer a question. You believe Satan tortures adults but you don't believe he tortures babies. Why doesn't Satan torture babies?

Jesus said in Matthew 18:3-5:

Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Whoever receives one little child like this in My name receives Me.

And in Luke 18:16-17, Jesus remarked: “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.”

Nowhere in the Bible does it say that babies go to hell if they die in infancy.....they're angels on earth and when they pass they go to Heaven and live eternally with Him. I'm sure satan would like to but a childs heart is too pure to let him enter.

I don't think you can call yourself a christian if you dont' believe in the wraths of Hell. To believe in God is also to believe in Satan as well and to believe in Satan is to believe in Hell....I'm talking about the old fashioned Hell not somebody's tidied, cleaned up, rose colored glasses version.

I'm sure it doesn't matter to him, as far as I know, satan isn't fussy when it comes to souls.

....and I'll repeat, Satan hasn't tortured, through Hell, anybody...yet. He has, however, been able to get to us through those he's already consumed and claimed as his own, it's through them that he's given the power to wreak havoc here on earth. The day will come when as welcoming as the gates of Heaven will be, so will be the wraths of Hell.
Babies and children are already angels in God's eyes. ....upon His return they will go to Him and take their rightful place next to Him in Heaven.....read the scriptures that I've posted in an earlier thread.

I've answered your question to the best of my ability. What's wrong, not the answer you were planning on? I guess there's no worries, it looks as though you've succeeded in getting that same old stereotypical reply you were looking for, even if you had to post it yourself...lol.

I'm not looking for a particular reply. I was hoping to explain why I'm not convinced you think it's wrong to torture people who believe differently than you. Before I attempted that I wanted to try to understand your view of hell. But I give up.
