Freaking DMV!

I failed my driving test again! :mad It sucks, because I know I'm a good driver, and I've had people tell me I'm good, but I just get nervous when I've got some complete stranger watching my every move. The first time(Last Friday), I failed by 41 points(Apparently, that's a lot). I didn't pull in close enough when I parked in the cones, I answered the question about parking up on a hill wrong, I didn't use my blinkers on the three-point-turn(I even tried to remember to use them, my sister forgot, but still passed), I didn't stop fast enough on the quick stop(I went over the 50 feet), I didn't look back when I was reversing(Everybody told me to NOT look back, use your mirrors, I'll fail if I look back. What bullshit, the instructor told me to use ANY means necessary to look around and stay safe), and when I pulled onto the main road, there was one car, ONE car that was very far behind me, so I figured it was safe to go. I pull out onto the road, and he said that if I'd been going about five or ten miles slower, the guy would have rear-ended me.

So, I just got back about an hour ago. I remembered everything I should do right, I was repeating it over and over in my head. I memorized the answer to the question, and I'd even been doing great on my quick stop(My truck has anti-lock brakes I just learned, so not only can I slam on the brakes and not lose points, since you can't slide or screech the tires, but I am now able to stop within 30 feet). I started out, parked perfectly in the cones, pulled up as close as I could, and I even answered the question correctly. I also used my blinkers on every turn when I was backing up from the parking space I'd been in when I got to the DMV, and used them when I was pulling into the test parking space. Then, she asked me to reverse out of the space, and that's where I failed! I slightly bumped the left front cone with my tire, because when I turned out, the wheel turned and hit the cone. It sucks, because I did it perfectly last week! :mad

Now, I have to go to the DMV after they close tonight, practice like crazy hell at parking(They leave the cones out so you can do that if you need to), and retake the test on Monday. This is so frustrating! I already have a truck too, so it sucks having your own vehicle and not being allowed to drive it. :(

christ man where the fuck do you live? they sound like nazis there at that DMV. shoulda found another DMV branch and taken the test there after failing it at the previous one.

you should try doing it here matt, cots £40($80) for an hours lesson .and most people take 20 hours at least ,then the cost of bothe the written and the practical test..and its shit hard to pass...
good luck monday mate:)

I live in Florida. There's two out where I live, pretty good distances apart. My friend failed when he ran over the flat base-part of the cone at the DMV closer to me, so I instantly knew to go to the other DMV. He didn't even wobble the cone when he did it! The DMV I've been going to, the people are MUCH nicer, they're polite, and even treat you like family. The guy I was with last week for my test, he saw me today before I took it again, and after I took it, he was like, "Hey Matt, did ya pass this time?!". They're just hella strict! I'll admit, last time I didn't do the best I could have done, but this time, I'd practiced and everything. Damn cones! But luckily, after hours, they leave the cones up all night, so they let you practice as much as you want, so I'll be going up there later tonight and trying it for an hour or two.

Damn! Sorry to hear that! But thanks love :)

I failed my driving test the first time, over some STUPID things that I did wrong, because of nerves.

I cried, whatever.

Wow im with dude up top dmv natzis! and my test we didnt have to do half that stuff here, it consisted of paralell parking, and driving a circle around two blocks, that was it! i still failed my first time out though because i hit the cone trying to park, but second time was a pass.

When I went for my driving test. The guy made me drive around the block that the DMV was on, and back into the DMV parking lot.

I never turned left.

EDIT: He must have been a NASCAR fan..
