Why bother posting the thread to begin with. You just make yourself look like a tool with no willpower. Hell, why even decide not to drink until the 5th anyway? You obviously had zero intentions of actually sticking with it, that much is patently clear.

I just got asked to hang out today. It was her who suggested to have a beer. If she had not asked, I would not even have given it a second thought. I gave a goal of the 5th because thats my boys beach party and its a drink fest. I have every intention of going back to no beer after tomorrow. I really don't know why I posted this thread. I think I spend too much time on here frankly.
Either a goal is important to you or not...it's that simple. I personally don't get the big deal about not having a beer, but like I said earlier you're a grown up and can make your own decisions. I decided at Christmas time to go completely off plan and enjoy myself. I felt horrible and disgusting by the time Christmas was done. I promised myself I would remember that this year, LOL

Would it really have been that difficult for you to simply not drink a beer? That's what i don't get about this situation. She could have a beer, and you could have a soda, or iced tea, or something. Seems to be nothing more than common sense to me... it just shows that your goal wasn't really all that important to you.

Look, Dana, this day in age, it is perfectly acceptable to go to a club or bar with friends, or a friend, and not drink anything alcoholic. Many folks choose not to consume for various reasons. Some are alcoholics, others don't want to chance a brush with the law on their way home. O'Douls, Old Milwauke NA (non-alcoholic beer), and some others are there as well as the standard Coca Cola or Sprite. You won't get the strange looks from people that you might think you will. You have no idea how many folks out there do not touch a drop of alcohol, but, still enjoy their time out with friends. Stay on your plan. Go meet the lady, have a great time. Plus, if she overdoes it, she has a ride and doesn't need to worry about the law either. Besides, you just might impress her.
OTOH, you might be a bit concerned about how you'll appear to yourself. When people are under the influence, they (think) they sound smart, funny, all those things that make someone attractive to another person. Sober, they hear themselves say silly things and see themselves acting the fool. Is that what you're afraid of? Let me tell you this; Drinking or teetotalling, you will sound the same. However, sober, you stand a better chance of watching your mouth and not making a fool of yourself.
Go, have a good time, sober, and keep your hand off her leg!
