I was 'treated' to some oysters today, and once again I wasn't impressed. In fact, I made up my mind today that I will never again eat oysters in my life.

I've never liked caviar either. Yuk!

Caviar, its ok but nothing special
Oreos - Seriously, why are you Americans mad for this shit? :yuk
Escargot - Yeah, couldn't get away from the fact that it really did feel like eating snails. At least the sauce was nice.

Jellied Eel - Seriously, just dont unless you like the taste of gristle and shit in dog food jelly.

Oysters are yuck!

There's not much that doesn't impress me with food, as long as it doesn't have a gross texture. I am more of a texture eater than a flavor eater. I don't care how good it tastes, if it feels weird, there is no second bite!

I find that to be a common theme with women in their food preferences.

and SMoked oysters:thumbup

The texture does take some getting used to. But once you master that, and savour the flavour (he he I rhymed) you will be converted.

i LOVE all seafood. Living on the coast helps. Nothing beats fresh seafood

One of my favorite tricks is to grill them.

Just lay them on the grill - opened - and drizzle a little italian dressing and a sprinkle of parm. Close the lid on the grill for about 3-4 minutes. Fucking awesome.

Are you a chef?

I saw your photo on the other thread cookin up a storm.

My hubby used to work at the local fish co-op. He still holds the record for most whiting filleted in a day.

We used to get HEAPS of free fish, lobster tails, prawns and mussels

I love deep fried shrimp! Not cold or any other way. To be honest, if I'd have seen what they look like prior to indulging, I would never have eaten them! As it is, I was a bit under the influence once and tried deep fried squid.... known as Calamari on the menu..... wasn't until I had eaten a few bites and swallowed it and said I didn't care for it that I was told what it was. Bastards! :D

Won't ever happen again!

I've never tried Lobster! Can't get past all that noise and mess. I still might try it some day.....

As for oysters, clams and the like..... forget it. Never had a desire to try them.

I definitely won't eat deer, rabbit, or any other wild game for that matter. Don't know why. Just won't.

I have worked with many chefs. Some good....most arseholes (not saying YOU are though)

Do you insist on being called "Chef" or can the staff use your real name?

I prefer my name. Though on the line during service we expect all the staff to say "chef" to whomever is expediting, necessary to be clear in a noisy and chaotic environment.

A few of my Mexican-native guys still always call me "hefe" no matter what. Part of the polite nature in which they were taught. I don't mind it at all.

I have not had raw oysters in years but have sat and shucked them for hours.
I have never tried caviar.
Unfortunately, most lobsters I have tried were overcooked.
I like almost all seafood.

Gordon the cunt Ramsey has a lot to answer for!

He breaks my heart, really. He's a fucking amazing chef with the creditials to back it up, and started on BBC as a helpful and constructive TV chef. But in the US he's allowed himself to become a cartoon character and his shows are no more real than Jerry Springer. It's disgusting.
