I do read people by their handshake. I believe a firm handshake is a good sign. Grabbing a wet washcloth is not a good sign to me.

firm handshake is def. good. Whenever I shake hands I make sure its a good grip...only thing is me personally sometimes i have to purposly shy away from handshakes...horrid circulation in my hands leaves them cold clammy sometimes

I try to make my handshake firm. But I too always have cold hands, not clammy but usually very cold.
I tried to shake a lady's hand today, and I usually go for firm and she offered me her fingertips. It was really awkward. She's of Asian descent, so I don't know if it's a culture thing?

I'm just now getting to the handshake phase of life. Transition from being seen as a kid to an adult I guess. I'm still working on my shake.
I get that "here hold my fingers" handshake occasionally. Pisses me off actually. I will give a pass if it is a female.

My dad made sure I know how to give a handshake. Women who give wimpy ones don't do much for me. Makes me wonder how far they get in business?
I always give a firm handshake. As I would expect one back. I was raised a handshake tells that person what type of person you are from the start. When I shake someone's hand I am giving my word and trust to them.
i agree Fred. I get right turned off someone with a weak handshake. I good firm shake is a good first step.:thumbup
I totally judge by handshakes. I get turned off by women who offer fingers, and I get PISSED when a man offers me a weak handshake. Maybe that's just his style, but I can never help but wonder if it's because I'm a woman.

I try to match the pressure of the person I am shaking hands with.
Most of the Chinese, Japanese and Korean people I know, don't shake hands... they offer a kind of bow from the waist up, so I think it is a culture thing with those nationalities..
I don't know what other Asian nationalities cultures do for a handshake substitution..
