If the trolls are finished lets have a serious discussion please
Govt spending per household is 50 grand a year.....rather high
What is a fair amount percentage wise for the govt to be taking from earnings{as a whole}
I shot out 25 percent then 28 percent later...and also allowed welfare checks to be sent to those in need..which would allow wealth distribution as result.
Is the govt really supplying 50 grand worth of our needs a year per household.
We work..pay for our own shelter, buy our own clothes, own food, many pay their own medical.
They supply the roads, protections services etc...coming to 50 grand per household.
This is going to take a rather large percentage portions of earning to accomplish.
At what point does the govt supplying the needs of the people become to large and harm growth and prosperity.
The more the govt spends...the more everything has to cost..as you are paying for that burden.
If we tax lets say manufacturing corp x 5 million dollars...it is still the consumer that paid for as that is where the funds came from to buy the products originally...the company has to charge for a product as taxes are overhead just like labor and materials...this include property taxes..payroll taxes corp taxes..taxes on their electric...they pay for freight..of which will be higher as the trucking company hand the added cost down to them.,,same for materials etc....as said taxes are an overhead and are handed down along the line.
Taxing the rich more increases the prices of a good or service which means the consumer is essentially paying the tax anyway....remember the funds come from the consumer to begin with....so your guys scale bracket method of taxing does not have near the impact you think it does aiding lower incomes
What is a fair percentage for the govt to take as whole of our earnings....lets face it increased govt spending is the pattern..but have our needs been further met?....No we still have to provide for ourselves what we have always provided...the price of govt services itself is what keeps going up...not the level of govt services we receive in proportion to the spending.
What next year?...higher taxes and the same level of service?
At what point do we say...here is the percentage you get as a whole..use it wisely...you can not have an efficient govt if they are not forced to budget what they have.
Its always easy to spend someone else money.

Govt spending per household is 50 grand a year.......................

You've already been shown that relationship is irrelevant, so it's impossible for you to project an intelligent conversation concerning that claim.

50 grand per household is very relevant..as it relates to how much tax is required to support such
If you do not feel it is relevant perhaps you should find a thread better suited for your level of deductive reasoning.

It's been discussed.
It's still not a relevant association, TM....no matter how much you howl and whine.

Anyway, this thread is about your stupid flat tax, structured as a sales tax.
That's also been discussed at length and it's also irrelevant.

TM.......take the hint......you're irrelevant .....:D.......:p

Before we can agree on a fair price, shouldn't we agree on what we want to buy? We have a wide divergence of opinion on what the role of gov't should be.

We should, but there is also an extreme debt to address at the same time.
So it's not just what we expect as the role of government, it's having to consider the extreme financial obligations already in place when designing a tax schedule in the near future.

Budget cuts and tax hikes need to go hand in hand....coordinated so the least damage is done to society and the economy.........but getting Congress to accomplish this without conflict and controversy looks almost impossible.

We would need to start at the very beginning by getting money out of politics. Until the politicians are actually working for us, it's ALL a pipe dream.

Safety, emergency response ,food regulations, epa etc
They have grown way beyond that though to the tune of 50 grand a year per household.
Ideally we should all feel happy that someone else can pay for it.....to be honest most of us dont even know someone that has an extra 50 grand they could just give to the govt.
Should we be thankful of these rich shits?
Everyone wants to spread the wealth...IMO its already being spread....spread to the govt at the rate of 50 grand per household.
I guess if we all averaged 100 grand a year we could pay the 50g ourselves...many would be in support of lower taxes I suspect.
