Do English people wear paper crowns at Christmas? I've seen this in a few movies about English people.

When my parents were still alive we had a family christmas at their place. My niece married a Brit and it was a ritual to open up these things i would call a popper. You pulled on each end and it made a pop. There would be a small surprise inside along with a paper tiara of some sort.

Tradition here too. They're called Bon Bons and AA is right. You pull an end each and the winner gets the paper crown...a little toy, and a joke thats inside. If you DONT wear your crown, you're a piker:p Its just not Christmas without Bon Bons

Ah we call them crackers. You usually get a party hat, toy and a joke inside it.

And yeah, we do wear the party hats.

Scottish people also call them crackers. We usually get a rubbish joke and a crappy plastic toy of sorts and we also wear the paper hat :tooth

The fight for southern independence has never been more heartfelt ;)
I love the damn rain, but the heat...I mean I must sweat a bucket a day. I know I drink enough to produce at least that! ;)

This sounds like so much fun. Do you guys have stockings too - that you hang over the fireplace and fill with things?

I've drank Canadian/American beer. Id worry about your own brushes :p

I used to put my stocking on the end of my bed. My mum and dad would then fill them so when we woke early in the morning, we can sit in bed and open some presents.
