But then also wouldn't the people migrating here know about the precautions and what is expected?
They should, but if we don't enforce it then people don't respect the ground rules laid out before them and don't follow them.

Our biggest problem in all this is lack of enforcement.

Idk, everyone better learn Spanish.
I agree. But at the same time I think it sucks.

I've actually been in parts of America where if you can't speak Spanish it is almost impossible to find a job. That is crap imo.

Idk the last time the United States harbored refugees? And yes I agree that we should all learn spanish very soon, because it's an unfortunate reality that Hispanics in America are going to out populate the majority.

If I am just visiting, then no. But if I am living there then yes I attempt to learn the language. If I were to want to live there and become a citizen, you are darn skippy I'd learn the language.

Well you are one of the minority who is to be applauded for this though I personally still think its the polite thing to do to still have a stab at a few phrases while I'm on holiday. Unfortunately most English people living abroad I've come across make no attempt to learn the language and intergrate themselves into the culture, the same thing we critisise foreigners over here for!

Because the place was so heavily populated with Spanish-only speaking people.
Who cares? I don't see a problem with a large group of a specific ethnicity speaking their native tongue to each other.

I have no problem with Hispanics being the majority in America. I do however have a problem with them coming here and not learning English. They came here, not the other way around, yet we are having to learn Spanish.

I do find that to be irritating.

Do you speak native American? Guess what the original language of your country was until it was changed to English? Why is it going over to Spanish over time any worse?

It's unfortunate because the majority (white), which has the most power, is going to be passed and all hell is going to go down man. What have we done always as a country when the power gets threatened? We squash it, immediately.. You know thats true..

Are you being serious or sarcastic?

I'm not a racist person. I just look at the reality of the situation. In the past when the U.S government sees something as a threat is puts it down.. Look in the early 1950's when communism in America was starting to become popular, especially in the Hollywood movies. What happened? Actors and directors started to get arrested and a new age of macarthyism (sorry for spelling) started with a "Fear for the commies".

I just found your statement to be incredibly bigoted.

What do you suggest to keep Hispanics from gaining power? Serious Question.

Let me give you an example. In North Carolina for example there is a large hispanic (mexican) population because of the agriculture and all the new construction. Most are illegal. The schools are forced to spend money hiring bi-lingual teachers so that they can education these illegal immigrants. Also, the police force has to spend money to educate the officers on speaking spanish. NC already doesn't have enough money to educate the kids it has who speak English. Is this fair to tax payers? I don't think most educated people here are saying spanish cannot be spoken, but what they are saying is that everything should be in English in America. Extra money should not need to be spent for the other languages, there's too many of them here.

I'm not suggesting anything. I'm just worried about what is going to happen to everybody and I'm scared. I just don't want things to get worse, IMO I have nothing wrong with Hispanics. I don't care if they gain power, but I know if they do white America is going to get freaked out and do something stupid like we always do. I don't want you to get a wrong impression about me AEF, I'm extremely open minded and all about multiculturalism and diversity man.

Example: We have began to build a gigantic wall, just like Israel, along our border with Mexico because we don't want to many illegals in.

Wouldn't that be more effectively and better dealt with by sorting out immigration laws than by making English the official language though?
