No way hun, that's what they call me, and I have very less in common with that guy :D
BTW, I think the gorvernor of Cali is doing a great job when it comes to clean energies. I never thought I'd say something good about him, but there it goes. Well done.
Trust there is a difference between being a tree hugger and being like Al Gore. I am all for taking care of our earth. It is the only home we have, given to us to work and take care of. Al Gore is 'out there'.

And I like Arnold too. He's the best thing that has happened to CA in a long time imo.

Allow me to rephrase. The current media/politician fearmongering about global warming is a joke.

id say its a joke if the reason they do it is to garner friends or votes. which quite possibly, is the case for most all of them. but to those who think it might (and i say might) do some sort of good, i cant find fault in it, unless they are like "you are bad people! your hurting the earth! your bad people!", lol, then i think thats a little absurd. but i think its easy to forget that we live in a big snow globe, a big dome that traps a lot of stuff in. and we've produced a lot of stuff, lol. again, i dont know how much stuff or how much it affects things, but i know its a lot, just look at chicago or Los angeles from a distance, its freakin nasty.

but even if he is wrong, or out there, or way over doing it (which he probably is,lol), i still think id rather someone be out there or wrong on something like this then any other issue, because even if he's wrong, nobody dies, lol.

Seeing as how our glaciers *ARE* receding rapidly, I wouldn't exactly say the media is all that wrong in stirring this up a bit. Look at the mini ice age that began around 1650, and lasted till the early part of the 19th century. It triggered the plague, and most of Europe was killed off by it, and all it took was a few degrees in temperature drop. A FEW DEGREES.

Now, I DO NOT think we are the cause of global warming, but we are doing a great job at making it worse, and making the effects come more rapidly.

I don't think Al gore is a fear monger. He simply states scientific information that has been stated by acclaimed scientists.

I do think however that he may want to benefit from that. Look at the concerts they had yesterday all over the world. The money was going to be destinated to an organization against world warming HE has founded. I don't know... it gets hard for me to trust politicians. We do not need a massive big plan and to spend a lot of money taking care of our earth. We need to get a concience about it and reduce all the waste we are creating. Turn of the lights when we leave the room, don't waste water, etc.. and the goverment needs to invest in clean energies. And I don't think someone can argue with me that it is a good investment considering how much all of us depend on oil and the countries that produce it.

Wow... Those of you who think global warming isn't 'real' or is not an issue are very misinformed. I can give you facts if you'd like? Do you realize that out of 900 scientific papers written on global warming, the number of papers that concluded global warming did exists = 900. The media is the ONLY reason that people believe global warming is not an issue. I used to think this way after reading all the crap that was published. Then I decided to dig into the issue myself and take an un-biased look at it. (Remember, going into this i was against the thought of global warming). I soon realized the trouble we are in. Maybe not in our generation, but those to come soon. It took thousands of years for the population to reach 2 billion people. In our parents lifetime the population will have went from 2 billion to over 10 billion. Along with this the pollution increases. With increased pollution, the amount of CO2 in the air increases. With an increase in CO2 in the air, the temperature rises. When the temperature rises, ice melts. When ice melts the oceans rise. When the oceans rise, land becomes submerged. When land becomes submerged, people are displaced and die. Humans will kill themselves off. It's almost and un-arguable fact.

Amen brother... I was going to post something up, but just didn't have the time yet.

I, like you, are all about the facts. Forget the media hype. I have always been a hard facts kinda guy and like you said, the scientists have spoken.

So why do my nipples still freeze and fall off in the sub zero temperatures during winter if global warming exists?

This is all a gradual shift, James.

Maybe "global warming" is part of a natural cycle, but I don't want to leave problems lying around for my grandchildren or great-great-great-etc. grandchildren to deal with.

the planet goes in cycles it has for millions of years thats undeniable...the planet will warm up and then it will cool off...

Of course it is, no one is really denying that. But with the massive amounts of pollution we have been pumping into the ozone since the industrial revolution, we undoubtedly have a part in speeding it up/making it worse. We are not the cause of global warming, we are simply feeding the fire.

Indeed it does go in cycles. But that is the number one misused 'theory' to disprove global warming. Look into the data and you will realize this isn't merely a cycle.

even if we aren't causing global warming, i can't help but agree with the green agenda.

even if we aren't running out of oil, it's getting hella expensive and causing some major political tension. alternative fuel and hybrid cars are the future. and honestly, i think the world would be a better place sometimes if we cut the brake lines of every recreational hummer out there.

recycling is good. not throwing shit on the streets is good.

cutting our carbon emissions over the last eight years might have been more helpful than an oversea war and militant occupation.

i don't think we'd be sacrificing all that much by giving in to the 'fear mongerers'

haha I know I know.

My point with the last post (which was more a joke about the nipples than anything) was that, gradual changes don't happen overnight. It could be another 100 years before we see the seas rise a few inches.

I agree that we need to stop cutting down the Rain Forest and improve mpg in our vehicles (crush all SUVs). But fixing the minor problems causing the minor fluxuations isn't going to fix it in the first place.

Inevitably we'll all meet our demise because of the earth warming up and I'm not going to be around to see it anyway.

All we're doing is releasing natural CO2 in the air; CO2 that's in the earth to start with.

their are people a hell of a lot smarter than me figuring this out and some of them believe that its bullshit while others believe its a problem both sides brings facts to the table so its hard to say whos right and whos wrong...I think its just another way of trying to get you to buy more expesive things just because they are enviromental friendly and not just that but raise prices/taxes to put more coin in their pocket because they say its for the good of the planet....make me rich and the planet will get better...thats all it is plain and simple cut and dry...I know we haven't been great to this planet but do you have any idea how long it would take for us to fuck it up that bad to the point of no return...
