In my opinion, the moment they become addicted and start going through any means to get that drug is when it becomes illegal. But that is just my own opinion of course. I still believe there are no reasons worth using drugs except for medical purposes. Sure, there are reasons that may seem logical...but that still does not make them right. Responsible drug use is when it used for reasons to help someone get better medically and not for a split second until they need more. I agree with you that it is, indeed, ashame that law enforcement officers do look the other way at times, but that is a whole other topic and not every law enforcement officer is bad in a sense. I still believe that abusing drugs are wrong and should have no part in society except for medical reasons, but I do not expect everyone to agree with me nor do I think I am 100% correct in my beliefs. In the end, we believe in what we believe in I suppose. Though I am glad to have learned quite a bit from your previous posts. It is always good to view things from a different perspective.
The police round here keep half the drugs they conviscate for themselves. I know as a friend of mine was at one of their parties on a boat once and they were doing a load of speed and boasting about where they got it from.
I'm not fussed about any drugs now, but I've had my fair share of most of what's out there.
Drugs are good fun though, I can't deny that.
I've tried Coke and grass a few times. I don't like needles so would never shoot up anything. I hate what crank did to my cousin, she almost f*cked up her life, but then she has a compulsive personality so it was that factor more than the drug itself that.
Some people can handle it w/o consequence, some can't. I have always been interested in trying shrooms, but the one boyfriend I had that had easy access never came thru and I stopped seeing him for other reasons.
I drink.
roofies? :24:I went through a stage of getting stoned quite often. I really enjoy it, I literally just laugh until I fall asleep.
Havent done it for a couple of years now which is a good thing! I may enjoy it but I sure as shit dont wanna be doing it all the time.
I have also done something (and I cannot remember what it is called), it is a liquid you put in your drink and its supposed to make you feel drunk I think. It did nothing to me.
Ive never done anything harder, mainly because I am too scared and I have heard that if you are worried going into it, then you are more likely to have a bad trip. Im just not interested in that...or the comedown.
My brother really got into his drugs when he was younger, luckily he never had any bad experiences. He still does them occasionally, he is a dj so surrounded by them all the time, but he has really cut down which is great!
I remember when I was in my last few years of school, all the people my age were completely scandalized by the older kids doing Es and things:
Now it is completely common place, even the "good kids" pop an E on a night out. This is all since I left NZ and it shocks me!
Over in Europe taking drugs is just like having a drink on a night out. The number of times I have been offered cocain by a stranger in a bar is just mind boggling.
Im not a big anti, drugs are bad rah rah rah person. I think it IS possible to take them safely.
But Im still not gonna be standing in line...for a line![]()
I've done E's before. Fun times.
with no disrespect meant, your view of the police and the government's involvement in drug trafficking strikes me as somewhat naive and pollyannaish. i have seen statistics that very clearly show that the austin police department rarely arrests any dealers. they also do not turn in everything they seize. more than 5 grams of weed seized from me was reported as 1/2 gram. i have heard numerous similar narratives including pounds that were reported as ounces.
the hot drug wars in places like afghanistan, colombia and mexico are struggles between independant distributors and our government for control of the supply. our troops and spooks are being used to eliminate competition. two years ago in oaxaca, an indie journalist filmed his own assassination being directed by an american spook who was directing the loading out of a semi with weed that he was filming. the spook is clearly seen pointing and shouting repeatedly "kill the gringo with the camera".
abuse of anything is not going to be good, but who is to judge whether recreational use of these substances has no redeeming medical or other social value? there are ancient ceremonies attached to the use of many of them that are protected by the first amendment. a recent study reported that violent crime and addiction rates have both gone done with legalization in the netherlands.
cui bono, man? the prohibition laws and the drug wars in general are of no benefit to anybody but the people financing it.

i'm so silly, i think most people are essentially good. i even have relatives in law enforcement. it's just that there is a corrupt streak permeating all levels of government starting with street cops and going all the way to the white house (at least during reagan/bush. who knows since then).
the revenue losses are staggering, even more so with marijuana because of all the environmental damage wreaked from using petrochemical substitutes and lumber instead of industrial hemp. consider the costs of arresting, trying and housing one drug offender who committed no other crime but to be in possession of a controlled substance.
when you say society should be more responsible for the use of illegal drugs, do you mean in the sense of more restrictions or programs such as the heroin injection clinic in vancouver that are aimed at reducing the negative impact of drug use?
