Most people don't, hell, I didn't when I used the stuff.
Now that I think of it the strongest drug I've taken is Morphine but it was given to me in a hospital so I don't think it counts lol
Oh my god, that was nucking futs. They gave me that epidural when I had Dean... I felt like the happiest person on the planet. I took vicodin recently, but it was because I was in the hospital. They prescribed it to me. That was one fucking intense pill.

a number of anthropologists have theorised that the psychotropic botanicals are intimately associated with the evolution of human consciousness and society, so much so that many cultures ritualize rather than ban their usage. careful reading will reveal that drugs played a role in the lives of many historical figures. edgar allen poe was fond of cocaine and arthur conan doyle liked opioids.
there is even a story of how george washington, thomas jefferson and ben franklin hired mercenaries to steal the chinese emperor's medicine hemp seeds. the opium poppies that jefferson grew at monticello were just finally removed by some moron in the last bush administration.
there is no shame and very clear gains in responsible drug use. that goes for the licit and illicit. i wouldn't even call the needs of most addicts shameful -- they use them to deal with issues in their lives they don't have better solutions for.
the shame is when they are driven to violent crime to pay the inflated black market prices. the shame is when law enforcement officers are paid to look the other way for certain dealers and politicians are paid to legislate drug laws to give unfair advantages to the big pharmaceutical houses over the growers and processors of the illicit medicines.
In my opinion, the moment they become addicted and start going through any means to get that drug is when it becomes illegal. But that is just my own opinion of course. I still believe there are no reasons worth using drugs except for medical purposes. Sure, there are reasons that may seem logical...but that still does not make them right. Responsible drug use is when it used for reasons to help someone get better medically and not for a split second until they need more. I agree with you that it is, indeed, ashame that law enforcement officers do look the other way at times, but that is a whole other topic and not every law enforcement officer is bad in a sense. I still believe that abusing drugs are wrong and should have no part in society except for medical reasons, but I do not expect everyone to agree with me nor do I think I am 100% correct in my beliefs. In the end, we believe in what we believe in I suppose. Though I am glad to have learned quite a bit from your previous posts. It is always good to view things from a different perspective.

i had morphine twice -- once when i got shot for writing something about the contragate cocaine cartel's venice beach network and again when i had to get my face reassembled after a ledge crumbled on me and i fell 40 feet smacking it against the cliff all the way down.
i was in incredible pain, but that stuff not only made it all go away but i was having the most incredible dreams ever from it too. both times they couldn't get me off it fast enough. glad they did, too. opium and it's derivatives are way too addictive and i don't need anything to have wild dreams.
I do drugs because I enjoy them. I'm not hurting anyone else so it's none of anyone elses business.
I'm not a heavy or regular user, just an as and when user. I mainly do cannabis, cocaine, meow meow, speed, downers and mushrooms.

True in some aspects, but I do believe in the whole "Cause & Effect" concept. That is just me though.

Its a drug which just got banned recently over here and surprise surprise, it's now far more popular than when it was legal. Guess the war on drugs is working!:sarcasm It's white powder you snort, guess describing the effect is you talk a lot but not a load of crap, like some drugs, you're more alert but with a relaxed sense of well being. Got to say, it's my favorite drug.:thumbup
