TRUE STORY FROM... "THE HOUSTON HERALD NEWSPAPER" IN HOUSTON , TEXAS


Last Thursday Night Around Midnight, A Woman From Houston , Texas Was Arrested, Jailed, And Charged With Manslaughter For Shooting A Man 6 Times In The Back As He Was Running Away With Her Purse. ~

The Following Monday Morning, The Woman Was Called In Front Of the arraignment Judge, Sworn In, And asked to explain her actions. The woman replied, "I was standing at the corner bus stop for about 15 minutes, waiting for the bus to take me home after work. I am a waitress at a local cafe. I was there alone, so I had my right hand on my pistol, that was in my purse, that was hung over my left shoulder. All of a sudden I was being spun around hard to my left. As I caught my balance, I saw A man running away from me with my purse. I looked down at my right hand and I saw that my fingers were wrapped tightly around my pistol. The next thing I remember is saying out loud, "No Way Punk! You're not stealing my pay check and tips." I raised my right hand, pointed my pistol at the man running away from me with my purse, and squeezed the trigger of my pistol 6 times! ~ When asked by the arraignment judge, "Why did you shoot the man 6 times? ~



The woman replied under oath, "Because, When I pulled the trigger the 7th time, It only went click." ~



The woman was acquitted of all charges. She was back at work at the cafe the next day!

So in Texas...taking the law into your own hands isnt illegal then? Its OK to shoot and kill ...sorry Overkill there?

Here...she would have been gaoled for a very long time....and I would have been on the jury convicting her.

I dont condone what the thief did....but in my eyes, what she did was worse.

Scumbag screwed up by trying to steal from me. Had Scumbag known I was gonna shoot his sorry ass for it would he have tried to rob me anyway?

I really don't have much sympathy for someone trying to rob me.

I dont have sympathy either...do you guys think I sympathise with the thief just because I think shootin him 6 times in the BACK is overkill?


You would honestly kill them!!!....see I just cant fathom it....if they'd just raped and killed my child.....maybe...yeah STILL only maybe...but for stealing from me...I couldnt kill someone.:(

welll....if you DO have to...make sure you do it in Texas, then you at least know there wont be any repercussions;)

and "D'uh me.....Manslaughter means she DID kill him

I know you guys mock our gun laws....but I personally am SO glad we have them...


I dont know how you can feel safe with so many trigger happy gun owners around the place.

I'd be looking over my shoulder and jumping out of my skin if I lived over there I reckon....
 
I don't worry about women like her shooting me because I don't steal purses.

I might vote to outlaw handguns if it ever makes the ballot. Yeah, it's true that guns don't kill people. But if a criminal is going to try to kill me I'd rather he use a knife than a gun. I'd have a better chance of defending myself.

I would not vote to outlaw shotguns and rifles though.
