I am so fucking tired of people judging the south. And yes I am using the fuck word.
People say we are racist - most people who think this don't more than five non white people.
People say we are ignorant - all of America is ignorant, do we really have to make that a pissing contest too?
In my experience the people in the South are nicer, and more open to other ideas. Yes we have our bigots, and yes we have our fanatics, but they stick out because at least they have some flavor unlike the northern bigots and fanatics that just blend in with everyone else around them.
People say we are fat - so we eat good - so what? And don't call our food gross - it has flavor! And eating crawfish or fried pork skin or boudin is no worse than eating lobster, fried calamari or chicken apple sausage (GROSS!)
What else do people say?
Oh the whole slavery thing - fuck that. The North had just as many slaves. The New York Manhattan Banking Cluster Fuck is based off of money made with SLAVES. The North just didn't have huge slave plantations - the slaves were more spread around where as in the South you had to have major money to have them. Arlington Cemetery is built on an old plantation where there were slaves. But then what do I care? I am mostly Italian and Native American. My ancestors didn't own shit.
Anyways. Just because I have a southern accent, don't mistake me for being of lesser value than you. If you underestimate or insult me I will show my southern roots and you will be so scared that you will have no choice but to pretend that I am trashy and not scary and absolutely right in defending myself.
