Yeah, but as long as the person joking about it isnt doing it... its all gravy. Its like the abortion jokes. If someone actually pushed their pregnant girlfriend down the stairs, its a disghusting and horrible thing todo... but its still funny to joke about as long as it isnt happening.

Theres states out there where u cant even hit your own kid anymore. I know growing up I was a bad kid. That slapping shit didnt do it. I got my ASS BEAT as a kid, as did my sisters. I think hitting children is OK as long as your not randomly doing it for no reason or coming home drunk beating them.

I have told this joke myself...and I admit, I laughed at the "double kill" meme.

Do I think either thing is a laughing matter??? Absolutely not. But I have a twisted sense of humor and can laugh at things that other people don't find funny. Part of that comes from the line of work I'm in...you have to learn to laugh at things to keep from crying sometimes.

I don't do debate, so more than likely I'll unsubscribe from this thread, but you can spare me the "what if it was your mom" or "what if it was your daughter" speeches, b/c I grew up in a violent household and experienced it firsthand.

I don't find any of it funny. I think the OP has some serious mental issues to think that abortion, child abuse, and domestic violence are humorous in ANY way, and then draws the line at rape? How does that make any fucking sense? It doesn't. But, I'm gonna go ahead and take a stab in the dark and say he's not married, doesn't have children, and his friends are a bunch of real assholes. It's one thing to be able to laugh at yourself, your race/ethnicity, your situation, etc. But when you start making jokes about something so widespread as domestic violence, you look a lot less funny, and lot more like an asshat. I'd bring up the fact that in a home where a man is beating his wife (or vice avers), not only is the wife (or husband) suffering, but so are the children. Only, you don't give a rats ass about children either? I can only pray that no woman or child will ever have to be "graced" with your presence. Really, there are plenty of other things in this world to laugh about and you choose something like this. It only shows the kind of character you have.

I am the LAST person to stand up for the OP, but I grew up in a violent household myself (I'm talking broken bones violent...guns pointed at my mom's head violent...police busting in the door and pulling my dad's hands from around my mom's throat violent). I don't find any of the OP funny, but the joke about "what do you tell a woman w/ 2 black eyes? Nothing, you already told her twice" makes me laugh. The double kill meme makes me laugh.

I don't deal w/ death and destruction every single day, but I deal w/ it a lot. If I didn't have a warped sense of humor and couldn't laugh at some things that really shouldn't be laughed at, I'd go crazy. If that says anything about my character, then so be it...but I can sit right here and recite every single detail of the first child death I ever handled as well as the addreess (this was 11 years ago, mind you). There's a court case from here last year that I still can't talk about w/o breaking down and sobbing. I have a heart and I have a lot of character...but sometimes you have to laugh at the unlaughable. :dunno
