The issue is more their right to fire some of their employees that come out or are discovered to be Gay or even heterosexuals who do not tow the dogmatic line.

No, they should be able to fire people because they're gay if that is their policy. It is up to them, although, I know of gays that are out of the closet that work in churches.

:thumbup:thumbup Love that quote! Inaction is not always an option. You can only exclude yourself for so long. The Church's views do matter as does any other large corporation or entity with large sums of money. People can be bought. It's called politics.

As a corporation, if churches can discriminate in that way with there employees, then why not other corporate citizens like G M ?
What gives churches rights that no one else has as per civil law? Why should they be above the law of the land?

Well it is pretty silly to call churches "corporations" since they are in fact not incorporated at all.
And they are private organizations. They can choose who they serve.

I don't think churches are much different than corporations. They both need to make a profit to stick around. Often, they become so concerned with the profit margin, the people are forgotten. Yet, without the 'little people' neither corporations nor churches would still stand.

The issue is not who they serve but who they allow to work for them and why they deserve to be above the law you and I have to suffer. You may have downgraded yourself but I have not.

If they fill out a tax form then to my way of thinking, they are a citizen. Call them a corporate citizen or a bigoted, sexist intolerant citizen, I do not care. They are still not better than you or i and do not deserve to break the laws that we must follow.
