Yeah but its SO DAMN OBVIOUS that genesis is simply creation myth. Like every other culture's creation story.

I like the one where the earth was founded upon an otter grabbing some mud off the bottom of a lake, setting it on a turtle's back and PRESTO, earth! Know why? Because that one has otters in it, and otters are kick ass.

Meh... it's possible. I don't spend much time in the Old Testament, so I could be missing some clues that would tip me off to it being allegory. I've always understood it to be history, but you could be right. I'll go back and read it again. The practical difference however is minimal, so don't get your hopes up too high. :)

Otters do kick butt.

You can wait for the science all you want. We have no physical evidence to confirm or deny, so the only thing I have to go on is what is written in the Bible.

We have more physical evidence for evolution than what the Bible states against evolution.

"You work three jobs? … Uniquely American, isn't it? I mean, that is fantastic that you're doing that." —to a divorced mother of three, Omaha, Nebraska, Feb 04, 2005.

Yes, I believe Adam and Eve were the first two humans. Created by God in the Garden of Eden. Fully developed. The 6,000 year thing I've not put a lot of time or effort into understanding. Some say yes for good reason, some say no for good reason. I just shrug and soldier on, as I find no relevance in my life for this particular piece of the pie.
.

Thank you.

Yes, and maybe. I rest my case.

Why, do you know something we don't?

I can't say I'm thrilled about her returning but whatever, she can have her capitalist opinions.

She's ok. A bright girl, very passionate. Only thing is I get trouble understanding her sometimes. Too many big words.

I like her spirit tho. Good for AEF to have a pardner also.

Not when millions of independent scientists arrive at the same collusions that say the earth is not 6,000 years old and we didn't come from two people.....

Ahem.....Millions?

You can't get two GOOD scientists to agree on what fucking time it is...let alone how old the earth is:D

I side with the concept that the earth is older than 6,000 years....But I'm an idiot with no ability to reason:D

Imagine how two BAD scientists would attempt to agree on what time it is; they would eventually resort to flaming.:D

Ok, so what? We'll discover it one day, I am very confident that we will, since I think the human race is capable of many great things. But, I have no clue why us not knowing how every got started is in any way related to evolution. Its not.

You're just saying outside intervention is more probably because of your personal religious beliefs, I believe. I think that a natural cause is just as, and more plausible than a magic man.

it can't explain it, YET. Again, you're just reverting back to the god of the gaps argument. Can't explain it? The magic man done it!
All in all, creationist arguments can be summed up to this statement: "we don't exactly know how its done, so god did it."

Thats what all creationist viewpoints boil down to.
Nope. it still refers back to -----> We don't understand it yet, so god done it.
seems like you're saying, "We haven't discovered it yet and it can't be explained yet, so we'll go with the "we don't know exactly how it's done, but science fills in the gaps" argument.

LOL @ everyone:D

:popcorn2:

Okay paco, you constantly have popcorn and I want some. Aw, I just got excited to go the movies tomorrow. That was weird. Anyways, back to you giving me some popcorn.
