No. I think all religion is bad. And most of the wars in history have been related to religions. I just don't see the point to believe in something that can't be proven

I just don't see the point to believe in something that can't be proven

"Proof" can be construed to be objective, in a very loose way.

Go with me here for a minute and see what I am getting at.

Prove that you have a heart. Yes, you feel a pulse, you are alive, you can feel it beating in your chest, but PROVE that it is there. Ok, you can get a scan and get an image of it. PROVE that the image is accurate.

We are "told" that the Earth's center is hot molten rock. PROVE it. Yes, we see evidence of it through volcanic activity. We can go deep in the ocean and find hot spots. But PROVE that the Earth's core is hot as well. Could scientific evidence be contrived to make you believe what they want you to believe?

I am not wanting this to stir another debate, but we have been told that man walked on the moon. PROVE it. Someone "said" they did. NASA claims they sent a manned spaceship to land on the moon. PROVE it.

Alright, I have used some outrageous examples. My point is that while those proofs are considered to be adequately explained by acceptable medical and scientific techniques, the same concept can be applied to religious "proofs".

Religion doesn't use science and medicine. WOULD EVERYONE ATTEMPTING TO NOT BELIEVE IN RELIGION STOP WITH THE IDEA THAT A CONVENTIONAL PROOF IS WHAT YOU SHOULD NEED TO BELIEVE. I would strongly urge you to acknowledge that the proof of faith to the believers is JUST as strong to them as the proof of science seems to be to the non-believers. The non-believers have not tapped into the possibility of faith, due to the fact that the scientific proof is the only idea they will accept.

There are millions of believers with faith. It doesn't make sense to you. But it must be seen as a possibility just like you believe you have a heart, that the center of the Earth is hot and that man walked on the moon.

Prove that you have a heart.
People have cut open a human body before... Your points are pretty silly...

There's a video that shows the Jesus, and god isn't real. Call "The Greatest Story Ever Told." On youtube. It even says and shows that all the infomation is real, and proven.

Dana, did you not read that I admitted my points were "silly", as you say? Read before you post. Since you missed the point, I'll try to dumb it down, since you made yourself vulnerable. Prove to me that YOU have a heart. Not by opening a dead body, not by another person going through open-heart surgery. Prove that YOU have one. You can't. But I believe you have one. And the ones who have faith in God and believe in him, don't need physical proof either. They believe. Once again, the ridiculous assumption was made AGAIN by going back to the physical evidence ("cut open a human body"). I am repeating myself. Religious belief has NOTHING to do with the physical. It's faith. Ask about faith since it is real to believers.

Sweetie, you are very young. This type of "argument" is so far from credible.

Yes he can. He is alive and not sitting hooked up to a machine that replaces his heart. There is your proof.

Yes it is proof because there is no such thing as a living human being without a heart.
Do you even understand what the definition of proof means?

Gina with all due respect, I am not going to diverge onto that topic. Nor am I going to debate what a proof is. I am educated. My points were presented as being ridiculous. I STATED THAT ALREADY. Of course everyone has a heart. We have the medical knowledge and the scientific evidence that a living, breathing person has one. But PHYSICALLY, I cannot see his heart, can I? I have no REAL hands-on proof, but I believe.

I am COMPARING that unequivocal belief in a person having a heart to the faith that a believer has in God. Stay on target and don't turn my example into more than I intended it to be.

Done with you and this point. Drop it.

exactly... I mean what more proof can one have? Do i need to have my beating heart in my hand?

Breath I don't think you need to down it down for me I think you need to find the definition of "proof" and reread it...

UGHH but one can't use having a heart as a belief.... It's proven fact.

Dana,
I am also done with you and this topic. You are not following my use of requesting a proof at all. You speak as if you haven't even comprehended what you read.
When you can discuss faith, and it's exclusion of physical proof as a requirement to believe in God, then I will comment.
Thank you.

Both of these were a little off base, you don't have to get so snitty about it.

Your example was asinine* .. the need for a human being to be alive by having a heart was proven many years ago .. no human being can walk and talk and breathe with out one .. to ask to see someone's heart simply to prove that he has one .. is rather ridiculous.

adjective 1.foolish, unintelligent, or silly; stupid: It is surprising that supposedly intelligent people can make such asinine statements.
