I'm still sorting this out. After reading Ayn Rand, a lot changed. But I still haven't sorted out my religious beliefs yet.
You know, when I think about it, it's amazing how much one book could change my mind about so many things. It's so incredibly hard for anyone to change my mind - and she turned my world upside down within a matter of 2 weeks.

if you don't believe in god what do you believe in.

I always find it amusing when people say this for some reason in a debate about God. Do people really have to believe in something that does not exist? Well, according to most religious people, everyone has to. I have met a lot of people that go along very well in their lives without worshiping a god or being a part of some religion, so go figure.

Personally, I don't believe in god(s) but I am open to the possibility of him/her/it/them existing if there was evidence.

Good post.

I believe in the laws and theories of science and I believe in the harmony and peace good sociable people bring to civilization. I also believe in the emperical evidence of my senses. What more do you need? I think for mankind to truly advace into the future it needs to slough off all the ingorant and superstitious baggage it has been carrying around for thousands of years.

You may not get any evidence in this life, but does that mean it's not possible? However based on this premise, I find it very hard for God (whatever God or force you believe in) to hold us to any standard, although generally speaking I think being morally good would be a good place to be. It's my faith speaking. :)

Nah...

Even if there was enough evidence of his existence the last thing i'd do would be following him... like he deserves it, he just created us to play with us kinda...

But i really dot bother thinking over it much.
