You lost, darn. :)

Actually, if we started a poll everyone but yourself would agree that you were a Democrat. Simply because you may not be registered as a Democrat does not mean you are not a Democrat (your probably register Independent so you can screw up Republican primaries). As the saying goes, if it waddles like a duck and it quacks like a duck, then has got to be a duck. You my friend do more quacking on this forum than anyone.

You guys are so funny... everyone here is guilty of having partisan blinders on...

Some do--the issue is how well can you enunciate the reasons for your support for a candidate or for a party and then it is really irrelevant whether your are partisan or not so long as you understand the reasons for your partisanship and acknowledge them (nothing in the world wrong with being a partisan). Many people have no understanding of the results of voting for a particular platform. I continue to believe if everyone had a thorough knowledge of economics, tax law, and the Constitution, there is absolutely no way they'd vote for a Democrat. They might not vote for a Republican, but no way in hell would they vote for a Democrat, at least not the Democrats now in charge of the party.

I think it depends. I know several economists who are liberal economically and socially, and vote Democratic normally. With your statement, you would think these people would vote Republican.

I think social programs are needed in modern day society, but not the the extent Democrats want them nor the non-extent (is that a word?) the Republicans don't want them. Both social programs and the tax code need to be seriously reworked which is something neither the Dems nor the Reps are going to do.....
