It would be like Oral Roberts University inviting someone of Islamic faith to speak at the commencement and give them an honorary degree. It just doesn't fit the tenets of the institution you just don't do it.

I agree whole heartedly-

Would you attend given the fact that the University has strayed off course? Or if you had a child attending there now would you continue to fund their education? Or If you attended and had a year to go would you go back next year?

That's a good question. Are you asking me because you know I'm Catholic or just in general?

If I was a non-Catholic, then Obama speaking probably wouldn't influence my decision as much. I may have been going because it was a good school (Im guessing, I don't know this for a fact) and would want to continue getting the education.

However, if I was a Catholic or a Christitian of another denomination that went to the school specifically because of the the "official" stance of the Church, then I would question the integrity of the institution and would consider leaving.
