Did Notre Dame University....

Earlier today Obama recived an honorary law degree and gave the commencement address at Notre Dame University...

As a student would you have attended?

As a parent would you still trust the staff and leadership Notre Dame to teach your chidlren the pillars of faith? Would you send your next kid there?

What do you think?

If Notre Dame is aligning itself with the Catholic Church (and the last time I checked, it still was) then it should follow the official teachings of the Church. If you merely look at them as suggestions then don't align yourself with the Church and don't take any funding that might come your way.

Obama shouldn't have been invited and he shouldn't have been given an honorary degree.

Why would I want my children to learn useless information.

Just saying.

I agree whole heartedly-

Would you attend given the fact that the University has strayed off course? Or if you had a child attending there now would you continue to fund their education? Or If you attended and had a year to go would you go back next year?

Glad to know I am not the only one who finds what Notre Dame did was offensive. And I am an atheist. I could see the speech taking place. Like it or not he is the president. But to honor him and then let him spin that bull shit on abortion is taking it too far. and I am pro choice. Actually I just can not stand the bastard to be honest :24:

I think he is just a puppet for the liberal elite. That is what bothers me the most, I firmly believe his election was predicated on the color of his skin and the fact there were no other candidates which appealed to the eye and were genuine in their stances on the issues. It did get old hearing about him speaking at Notre Dame and then hearing the speech he gave.

This issue is petty. You guys need to find other battles to fight. Unless the intent it to spread as many bad vibes about Obama as possible, which I would not find surprising in the least.

this is where i have to disagree with you. even if it wasnt obama, and lets say bush, i would still feel the same way. the school has forever aligned itself with the catholic church and to let someone give a speech, much less a honorary degree, to those that do not hold the same beliefs in my opinion is not right. i would have to agree on a publicity stunt at this point, look how much media attention is has received, whether good or bad.

It would be like Oral Roberts University inviting someone of Islamic faith to speak at the commencement and give them an honorary degree. It just doesn't fit the tenets of the institution you just don't do it.

How dare you talk that way about the Messiah :spank:

Actually, I don't want to hear about colleges in the news. Don't they have something better to do, or is education not en vogue anymore?
