How do you know for sure??

how many men do you know that can haul around a 10+ TON Block?? Especially back 4600 years ago
Because if you read anything about ancient engineering they had ways of moving blocks that were incredibly heavy with leverage and other means. Its silly to jump to the "aliens" solution to the problem, and not give these architects and engineer's their credit.

For isnatcne, stone henge was built by floating the blocks down waterways to the construction site.

Women built them, men are pussies ;)
what does that have to do with anything

was that some sort of weak attempt at being funny

No one is saying acient civilizations were idiots, but with our view on the world for some folks its hard to grasp how a civilization without the amenities that we have at our disposal today could have built such monstrous and elaborate structures.
they could have easily built them with tier technology. Seriously, there are many books out there on ancient engineering. If you think the pyramids are huge try going to the Colosseum or the Parthenon. All were man made.

Not narrowmindedness on my part. ANcient Egyptian culture AND alien visitation/ lay lines/ earth grids/Mayan calender/Fourth dimensional theory/pole shifts and even Atlantis...have been a passion of mine for over 30 years, and I have literally devoured books on the subject.

So, I base my beliefs on what I have learned in my readings over a long period of time.

I actually think the Egyptians were NOT primitive, they were far more advanced than us, and open to different technologies that have since been lost and/or covered up.
and all of those authors are most likely not reputable. They just write books on these subject to make a buck.

Seriously, I read a book last summer on how this guy thought that Atlantis was in Scandinavia, and all of this information was wrong.

If aliens did help/build the pyramids, then why don't they point exactly to the north? Why are they off a degree or so?

They can navigate across the galaxy, but they can only pace a pyramid within a degree or two. :24:

Technically. I think their original plans had them landing at Betelguese. Maybe these were the Christopher Columbuses of aliens. :)

ok....the egytians built the pyramids.......so answer me this question if you will.....men travelled even back then....but distances like from egypt to central america?.....unlikely,so why was the pyramid design so popular with civilisations so far apart?

Probably because 10,00 odd years ago, true north WAS where they placed it them

Pole shift and all that. I'm willing to bet that true north could easily have shifted one degree over 10,00 odd years.

I'm glad you added the "most likely" bit....seeing as I only gave one author out of hundreds.

I thought most people wrote books to make a buck

Aliens did not build the pyramids. They did assist in the technical details.
I know this because I asked them when I was abducted by them.:cool

I actually have a male acquaintance of mine who thinks he was abducted. Other than that, he's a pretty normal dude (other than the fact that he's forty and works at a gaming store).

It's like that surprise in a Cracker Jack box; you are getting to know someone, think they are normal, then blammo!

"Oh yeah, did I tell you I was abducted by space aliens in 7th grade?"

No, as a matter of fact you rather skipped that part.

They aren't the same... they are similar in design, but not the same.

The pyramid is the most stable design if you want to build big and have it last "forever"
Take a pile of sand and dump it on the ground, what shape is it? Now refine that shape to be ascetically pleasing and give it faces. Now you have the basic 4 sided pyramid... not that far of a stretch...

and who's to say that other designs were not tried? One would think that other designs would not stand the test of time.

Why is it so difficult to think that aliens have visited us? Is it because it would go against things taught by religion? I think it is mistaken to assume we have never been visited by Aliens. It speaks of a giant ego to think we are the only possible living planet in all of the galaxy. Hell we might be a friggin amoeba in the grand scheme of things for all we know.

That does not mean I say we have been visited, people abducted or the pyramids built by aliens. Just that I do not close the door on any such possibilities.

What do you expect from creatures that can master inter-stellar travel but cant open a door?

All I want to know is why, if they travel all this way utilzing God knows what technology, all they want to do is give us anal probes????

I know that I haven't ruled it out. But I look at it from a practical standpoint. The nearest galaxy that can support life, as we define it, is thousands of light years away. And that's one hell of a trip to make.

So do I think there is other life out there? Yep, sure do. All kinds of weird and wondrous things way beyond our imagination. But I don't give a high probability of us being visited.
Think about this for a moment. Working on the basic principle of light travel, any advanced being would have had started their journey to this planet thousands of years before we were even walking upright.

My grandmother was born in 1888. She died in her 90's

In that tiny lifespan she saw us go from horseback to space travel. You are basing your view on us being the highest level of life out there and on what we know in our tiny little corner of the universe. Who is to say there is not some other form of life and space travel we have yet to discover.

The Egyptians themselves went through several designs. They went (loosely) from holes in the ground (which are mostly lost), to mastabas ("benches," which are rarely found), to the Step Pyramids (most aren't in the greatest shape), to the Bent Pyramid (it's in comparatively decent shape), to the ones people most commonly associate them with now ("true" pyramids, most of which are in good shape)). They found the ones that worked and stuck with them until tomb raiders made them obsolete. I agree with Tim, if the Egyptians had to use trial and error to find what worked from them, why couldn't the Mesoamericans? I haven't studied them in years so I don't know if what sort of evidence there is for this. But much of it could easily be lost in the jungles theres.

I think it's egocentric of us to think that we're the only planet with life. But when you think of the millions and millions of planets that are out there, I find it hard that they happen to stumble across us and randomly pop in every once in awhile. The probability of that is so low, I think we have to look for other reasons for the pyramids, strange lights in the sky, and crop circles somewhere else first.
