well what Obama is proposing is no loan. That is old style Roosevelt spending. Only now they call it investing. Did not work then and wont now. Many economists feel Roosevelt prolonged the depression and additional 10 years with his scheme.

There is nothing original in anything "Obama." Investors invest when they can predict what will happen in a given sector, good or bad. Gov't interference is an unpredictable variable so no one will invest where there's a threat of nationalization.

So what change is change we can depend on? I think healthcare and maybe highways. Johnson & Johnson and other such companies are going to make a mint off the national health "plan" that's bound to come, no matter what they name it. And if Obama does the FDR thing, let's call it the Big Deal, the place to invest would be steel, heavy machinery like Caterpillar & John Deere, and other such areas.

If you can't fight the storm, ride the wave so you don't drown.

Also, it looks like Obama has done more in his first week than George W. managed in his first 6 months. Substantiating talk with action? What a novel idea for a president.

You're wrong on the first account, Hitler, although secretly a troubled person, was a great orator. He convinced Germany, and a lot of the world that he had an answer for bringing Germany out of its economic despair, and it was industrializing the country. It is a tradition that stands to this day, manufacturing, invention and Germany are synoymous.

I think Hitler was a horrible man, but he convinced and entire country to follow him, without any opposition. Guilty of attrocity yes, but he didn't act alone

Obama, the verdict is still out. And I don't exactly call the Fair Wages act, a big step in the right direction for lining out our economy, or securing us with the Middle East.
