you do realize that nature is cyclical right

And...
When those who question the whole, "Inconvenient Truth" theory with that same statement - is it not equally valid?

The climate is changing, constantly. I think everyone agrees on this. So you have:
1. Is current climate change caused by human contributions or unnatural events?
Answer: No one knows. Lots of theories either way. There is evidence pointing both ways.

2. Is current climate change going to be catastrophic? (sort of depends on your definition of "catastrohpic")
Answer: No one knows. Lots of theories either way. There is evidence pointing both ways.

Regardless of the above - I do believe there is one fact at play here. Popular media tends to share only one side of any relevant evidence.

Even if science was able to prove that global warming was NOT man made and we had no control of it, it still wouldn't address the thousands of lives lost each year to breathing the polluted air we created.

You can argue whether eating large amounts of fatty food will give you brain cancer, but it becomes a moot point if you die of a heart attack before the results come in.

We can't save the earth, we can't destroy the earth... Hell, we could unleash every nuke in the world today and in 10,000 years the earth would be better than it is today. We need to call it what it is. We are saving ourselves from ourselves... And removing the pollution that we poison ourselves with is a great start...

Still, you CANNOT seriously look me in the face, and say that all of the shit that humans have pumped into the atmosphere since the mid-1800's has not effected the climate in some way.

I do not think man STARTED global warming, but I do think we are helping it along.

I know that the Earth will survive, and probably survive much better then without us, but in the time being it's eco-systems woul be destroyed, and we would be very much so annihilated.

So let's say that no one really does know. And let's also say that it turns out to be real, but because we didn't know and didn't take action against it our children, my generation, is fucked.

You don't know that your going to be in a car accident but, you still by car insurance. You don't know if global warming is real, but you still take action against it.

Isn't it ridiculous to here someone say 'Even though the consequences to this completely plausible event is horrendous, we still don't know for sure that it is going to happen. So we should just not do anything about it, and hope it turns out to be fake.' instead of 'Even though we don't know if global warming is real or not, it has such bad consequences and it is so plausible, we should take action against it anywyas, to prevent it from happening. There really isn't any risk in it anyways'

Um, so do we know why polar ice has GAINED (not decreased) faster recently than any other period in recorded history?

Polar bears you say? They have just as much ice right now as they did nearly 30 years ago according to this study:

DailyTech - Sea Ice Ends Year at Same Level as 1979

There are always outliners in a linear equation. One year, out of the past 50 that have been declining in the ice amount, is not a pattern. That's like saying, one day out of the past month has been warm, even though it is January, it must be summer time.

I know for a fact that this year the populations were better and the amount of cubs were increased in number. But I also know for a fact, the were the worst populations in recorded history a few years ago, when the largest amount of ice melted also in recorded history. And I don't trust sources from 'Daily Tech' only 'Science Daily' because I have never seen them biased on either side of the subject.

Really this is simple.....There is no "magic answer".

Regardless of what caused it, and what we are supposed to call it, we as a collective need to do our part to reduce pollution...

I'm a genius...you can all thank me later :24:

I would never presume to say so. I'm no expert. BUT, there's not yet one expert (or anyone else) who has any proof of that. I've seen only theories and conjecture. And there's a LOT of evidence to the contrary as well.

If you have proof (more than simply evidence), I would love to hear about it.

Evidence = Proof (correct?)
