Since this is a thread about the inevitability of death, should assisted suicide be legal? If not, why not?

You should start a separate thread about that topic. I think it deserves it's own.
I'm not afraid of death. Hate describes how I feel about death. I love life. So I would hate to die. But I have accepted that some day I will die. Even advances in science can't keep people alive forever. I just hope my death is far off in the future.
I am afraid of dying...because I do not like the thought that I will not exist...
By extension, nothing will exist for me, and I will not have any emotions or feelings.
Sounds kind of selfish, but that's how it is...
It's better for me to try not to think about it I guess.
Hopefully when I die I'll be crazy enough to think I'm just going for ice cream.

With no intention of starting a big debate, you have made one heck of a big assumption. You might be surprised.
It's best to live this life to the fullest and be pleasantly surprised if there turns out to be an afterlife.
