I did mention to Joe b4 about the Lost Boy book. In Greg Laurie's words- " It's a book about Hope" "How God can intervene in a messed up life and God can turn it around" It's now archived on this site and I just wanna share. Greg Laurie used to be addicted with LSD, came from a broken family with seemingly no future, he was that 'Lost Boy' YET his life was turned around through God's grace.

I also like his quoted Bible verse in the interview near end of the 1st archive: "If any man be in Christ, he is an all together new person. All things have passed away. Everything becomes fresh and new"

I can see how it might be possible for a man to look down upon the earth and be an atheist, but I cannot conceive how he could look up into the heavens and say there is no God.

Yup, I totally agree

Just looking at ourselves and how we were made with all the organs, cells etc- how could one deny that the wonders of a human body and it's functions not prove there is a God who created us? There's just way too many proofs surrounding us to be blind and not believe, imo of course :D

When I look back at the things that I have said and done in the past. It saddens me. But when I look at my future and see the joy in my sons eyes. I am lifted up and feel the most at piece.

My son wanted me to lay down with him for awhile this morning. So we are laying in his bed and he just wanted to talk about how much he misses my mom. That gave me a mix of emotions. Sad and happy. I miss both my parents. But I find peace in knowing I will someday be with them again.

Don't let your past sadden you sweety. When I think that way I just remind myself that my past was merely a stepping stone...I believe that the life we lead before we get to know God is a life that needed to be lived. :)

Oh don't get me wrong I totally agree with what you said. There are just things that I wish I would have said or did for my parents. Now I never will have that chance again.

Maybe indirectly you can by taking care of the people they cared for or continue what made them happy/ inspired them. Continue their visions, their dreams...........That's life's cycle, imo.

I started going back to church with my son and my Gf/ his mom. That was one thing that my parents loved. They were very devot Catholics. However I choose to go to a non denominational church. Either way I think that they would be very pleased that we have come back to church.:)

I used to be RCatholic too. Now am with a non-denominational church. That's awesome news for you to go back to church esp be a role model for your son. Your parents must be rejoicing seeing you now! Kudos :thumbup

It'v very easy to say things but being able to act them out is another. You can't be a piece of shit to someone one minute and then say something totally different the next and pretend to be a good Christian.

Before my parents both passed away. I was going with my son and his mom. Then we split for almost 2 years and I strayed away from god. We got back together last October and within the last 3 weeks we have been going back. I know my parents are looking over us smiling when they see us active in church.

I can't agree with you more. I am hoping that whatever it is and whoever it is that's concerned that you're coping well :smiley31:

This can be easier said than done---However this is when forgiveness comes about and that person who wronged you to come forward and ask for forgiveness. As we all know everyone's not perfect. We are all sinners. It just makes a difference in how we own up to our mistakes and for the other to forgive and give a chance! IJS

When you're weary
Feeling small
When tears are in your eyes
I will dry them all

I'm on your side
When times get rough
And friends just can't be found
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down

When you're down and out
When you're on the street
When evening falls so hard
I will comfort you
I'll take your part
When darkness comes
And pain is all around
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down

Sail on Silver Girl,
Sail on by
Your time has come to shine
All your dreams are on their way

See how they shine
If you need a friend
I'm sailing right behind
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will ease your mind
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will ease your mind

Locker Room Talk

God, instill in me your boldness and encouragement.

READ
Joshua 1:1-9

REFLECT
Modern cinema has provided us with some great locker room talks. Coach Dale in Hoosiers, Coach Boone in Remember the Titans-these guys inspire us, fire us up, bring a tear to our eye. But what about the coaches? Who fires them up and makes them cry?

In this passage, the new coach of the Israelites (perhaps the most rebellious and stubbornest team of all) is receiving his inspiration from The Coach, God Almighty. Imagine Joshua sitting alone in the locker room, preparing for his team, eyes and ears locked on his Coach. And God lays it on him: "No one will be able to stand up against you all the days of your life... I’ll never forsake you... Be strong and courageous." Now, go take those Israelites across the Jordan River.

RESPOND
Not only did God give Joshua instruction, but he also encouraged him in the midst of it. Maybe Joshua was just like the rest of us-sometimes afraid, sometimes discouraged. But he believed God. Read the passage again, imagining that God is talking to you alone. Is there a "Jordan River" in your life that God is telling you to cross? Do you believe God and all of his promises? Or are you struggling with fear or doubt? Write about your answers. Repent for any fear and doubt, and tell God aloud that you choose to believe Him.
